We have the pieces around him this year, that doesn't guarantee anything obviously because there's so many random variables, but to me whether we keep Dak past the next 12-18 months comes down to what he'll take in an extension.

If he's willing to take a Carr-like extension around 40-45/year, fine, if he does the same bullshit he did last time and pushes for top of the market money I say let him go or trade him if we can next off-season (not sure if that's viable or not). There's no use in keeping him if we don't have the financial flexibility to keep most of the roster around him that we have now.

Dumb frick premise though. Stroud vs Dak? Why?
I just noticed the subtitle there... Noah Brown says Stroud has the potential to surpass Dak.

My god, I would hope so of the #2 overall pick. :lol

Noah Brown QB evaluations? Congrats to "Carton" on finding the Mariana Trench of offseason NFL talk.

This is all true but I would prefer it if the media continues hyping the Eagles up as some sort of behemoth, unbeatable team.

They didn't have the division sewn up until the very last week of the season despite being significantly more healthy than we were, and since then they've lost a large chunk of their defense.

The casuals don't talk about it much because of the flashy headlines of "JALEN CARTER AND NOLAN SMITH" and "GEORGIA DEFENSE" but they lost 5 starters and their defensive coordinator, that's a big hit.

The offense is still obviously formidable if all goes right and they can avoid injury, but unless Hurts takes a big leap as a passer they're playing on borrowed time with a QB who runs 10-12 times a game. I also don't think they could absorb an injury like the one Tyron had last year where one of their top OL misses the majority of the season, not to mention Steele after that, and still put up 11-12 wins.

I think that's the bottom line. I don't think Dak is good enough to carry them to a championship. But, I do think he's capable of winning it with the right pieces around him. So the real question is, can they assemble enough pieces around him?

And by the way, I would say that about a lot of QBs.
The offensive pieces have been in place for a while, now the defensive pieces are catching up. Dak best make some hay before its over.

Exactly.

Maybe but there were always holes, whether it's been coaching, or offensive line issues, then Cooper is traded, TE isn't good enough, running game falls apart. There's always been something. And that's not to mention the defensive failings prior to 2021.

This year I'm not convinced the running game is good enough, or the depth at receiver is good enough. We'll see.

On the offensive side coaching has always been the biggest issue to me, under Garrett we basically just "out-talented" teams and unless we were the clearly more talented side we kind of waffled. I think Moore was better but not significantly, so I'm curious to see how it looks now that we're fully removed from the Garrett influence (which included Moore).

If we had a top offensive mind running our offense I think we have enough, I just don't know if McCarthy/Schottenheimer will be able to make it happen schematically. But if you gave me Shannahan or McVay I'd be more than comfortable with our offensive personnel.

Defensively we should be no worse than a top 3 unit in the league, so whether or not they're good enough to win it all isn't even a question in my mind.

His only saving grace is that he is not using the word "stacking" when talking about the wins.

Otherwise, same thing.

When will someone realize that they don't give out trophies for "back-to-back, 12-win seasons. No one gives a shit, especially when your hated NFC rival won 14 games, went to the SB, and is probably still a better team with a better coach and a GM who runs circles around the Cowboys' senile drunk GM.
