Yep, I think the league is very concerned about the ever-growing skepticism from fans that the integrity of the game isn't as pure as it's touted to be. Gannon was probably only halfway invested in preparing for the Super Bowl, not to mention any number of assistants who left to join him or even Steichen, and if fans knew that it'd definitely cause an outrage.

But like with everything else, the league doesn't care about the actual integrity of the game, they only care about the perception of it that exists within the minds of the fans and media. So they won't actually do anything about it, they'll just cover it up and hope it goes away.

I would be on board.
Same. Frankly, I don't know why all teams wouldn't be on board with a rule change like that.

A trip to the Super Bowl is on the line and your OC/DC is burning valuable time prepping for interviews with other teams. I bet there's not a single head coach in the NFL who's fine with the current timing of HC interviews.

Sounds like the MLB executives.

I guess Cam hasn't seen Lamar's hair lately.

I mean teams probably don't want a flake who dresses and looks like an elderly grandmother.
Or the broken down flake doesn't grasp the concept he can't play anymore. He was washed that one year in NE and embarrassed himself in his brief Panthers return.

He might be the more swishy equivalent of Kaepernick who drops the discrimination card for a few years.

Yeah I mean at this point his best hope would be as a backup somewhere. And no one wants a drama queen as the backup QB.

I would be on board.
Fuck the Eagles and their fucking apologist-media cult

Waaah poor Eagles

Like this hasn’t been happening, uh, forever.

Dave Wannstedt was “rumored” to the Bears, Broncos, and one other team during the playoffs. Didn’t distract his defense from forcing 4 turnovers at San Francisco in the NFCC.

It’s the fucking price of success, motherfucking deal with it.

No one hates the eagles more than me. This isn't about the eagles or whatever happened or didn't happen with Gannon.. It happens across the league. I don't care how long it's been going on, it's absurd that a team in the middle of a playoff run has to deal with assistant coaches preparing for and going on interviews while they're supposed to be preparing for a playoff game.

Moratorium on interviewing for coaching positions until after the super bowl. Problem solved.

It absolutely does go on. Hell if I remember our assistants interviewed last year. I hate it but it's allowed with permission. I think they should ban it league wide with or without permission.

I was commenting on the tone of the article veiling a totally Eagles-apologetic excuse-making stance behind a supposed story about “tampering”

Mofo’s you aren’t the only one this has happened to. It is the price of being good and has been for ages.

The only reason to write this bullshit article now is because it (finally) happened to their pwecious Eagles and they lost.

Boo fucking hoo.

I’d be down for upping the tampering penalties, but the Hell with moratoriums on hiring coaches. That’s true bullshit.

No way should you penalize what are already bad teams to be without a head coach for months while every other team has their coaches intact and are getting a head start on adjustments for the following season and fitting personnel profiles for the draft.

The system isn’t perfect, but we’re going to change the rules now because some Eagles assistant got a bloody phone call?

Um, no.
