Did you see how hard those LBs and Safeties were biting on those playaction passes and bootlegs? That's what committing to the run gets you and that's exactly what the Cowboys should be doing every week.
I know that last week we just got our lunch money taken from us.
No matter what we would have done, we were going to lose that game. It was clear from the opening kickoff that they were ready to play and we were not.
But that doesn't mean that mistakes weren't made in that game that helped lead to that result, and what's worse, it's mistakes that have been made so many times in the past and that will cost us close games going forward if either Garrett or Linehan don't finally get a damn clue.
How many times do you have to see the lack of a commitment to the run game bite you in the ass before you finally change things up? And how can you be on the team and part of the staff that put our offensive approach together in 2014 and 2016 but then come out this year and turn into a team that wants to pass roughly 40 times a game while also running so much of the offense out of an empty 5-wide set?
Dd they just completely forget what type of offense we ran in those 2 seasons which led to the 2 best teams we've had since arguably the 90's?
That's what baffles me. Like, are we really NEVER going to change? Is this truly going to be an issue each and every season while Garrett oversees this team?
It certainly looks that way. And while I know what Garrett is and what to expect, it still doesn't make it any less frustrating when we do it time and time again.
I just don't understand it.
