It took him like a game as a rookie. The first one being against what was the best rush defense in the NFL.

His first game this season, he went over 100 yards and was up at 4.3 yards per carry. Wasn't really that slow for a guy who was out of shape.
Last year, first two games:

1 09/11 NYG L 19-20 20 51 2.6 8T
2 09/18 @ WAS W 27-23 21 83 4.0 21

Games 2 - 4 this season:

09/17 @ DEN L 17-42 9 8 0.9 5
09/25 @ ARI W 28-17 22 80 3.6 30
10/01 LA L 30-35 21 85 4.0

This is what I mean. These are clearly below his standard.

Some of you people will never be happy, I swear to god. All teams sneak by with wins. We absolutely outplayed the Raiders last night. Sure we had a couple of lucky bounces go our way, but so did they. Dak did not play like shit no matter how many paragraphs you write about him. He played well enough to win. At least one of those INTs was one of their lucky bounces.

We won. Just let yourself be happy for 1 damn day. Reading this thread you would think we sucked monkey nuts last night. Good lord.
I agree that we mostly outplayed them, the problem is our defense was never able to capitalize on their sloppy play and get a turnover until the end. The 3rd and 9 duck from Carr that somehow ended up being a 20+ yard gain is what really stands out, earlier the exact same thing happened to Dak and it ended up an INT and gave the Raiders the ball around the 20, here we're up 17-10, 3rd down, exact same thing happens, not only is it not an INT, it's not even incomplete, it's a first down and a big gain.

That play really stands out and then there were a few fumbles we failed to recover, not to mention Brown dropping the game-ending INT.

The only spot I'd say we got lucky in, aside from the ending, was the offensive PI/missed FG to end the half.

It must really suck not being able to enjoy watching your football team win games. You talk like we beat the fucking Cleveland Browns the last 3 weeks. And keep in mind we blew out the Skins and Giants. I mean shit no one is screaming Superbowl after winning 3 straight but if you can't see progress than the bias is with you my friend.

Anyway next up are the Seahawks. And I'm sure if we are able to beat them you'll tell me how much they are an awful team, Dak sucks and blah blah blah.
I'm honestly not trying to be a sarcastic bastard, but what exactly am I supposed to be enjoying from this?

To hell with that stupid pipe dream of making the playoffs.... We aren't going to make it. And it's very clear now that Garrett and probably this entire staff is coming back for another season.

And we just went on a three-game winning streak against three of the League's worst teams. So what exactly am I supposed to be happy with about all of this?

Do I want to continue to see our young players improve with each week? Yes.

On an individual basis, I am encouraged and glad to see these young guys making strides. But even then there is only so much I can get excited about because I'm reminded that they are all going to be led by this inept coaching staff again next season.

So here we have a struggling quarterback, a terrible offense, one of the worst coaching staffs in the league, and now we are likely to finish somewhere between 18th and 22nd in draft position.

So I'd like to know what it is that I'm supposed to be happy with right about now as a Cowboys fan when I take all of these things into account?

And before you tell me that Zeke comes back next week, let me remind you that his presence isn't going to matter when it's 3rd and 8th from our own 18-yard line, or it's 3rd and 12 late in the third quarter and we have to pick up a first down, and it's going to be on Prescott to make that play.... Which he has struggled to do with any consistency this season, especially in recent weeks.

If a new coaching staff was coming in, I'd be right there with you wanting them to win these games because I think they would serve a greater purpose later on. But with us bringing back everything the same next year, it puts a downer on everything and reminds me that there is only so far we can take the potential we do see.

This is a really really really shity season as far as I'm concerned.

If we miss the playoffs the worst we could draft is 20 right?

I knew it. I was calling this when it happened. This coaching staff doesn't have the balls to pull something like that.
