There should be no debate whatsoever if you understand football that this play was designed to go to Beasley and it was supposed to get to him right away.I agree to an extent, although given the down and distance I think one would be correct in arguing that Dak should've started off his read to Beasley's side and then worked his way to the other side with the longer-developing routes. But still, it's impossible to know exactly how the coaches want the players to execute a given play call given certain coverage looks.
It's 3rd and 1 there. It should be an easy pitch and catch where he gets the 1 yard comfortably, but for whatever reason, Dak's throw is really late.
Not sure if he didn't like what he saw and turned his eyes elsewhere for a second before returning to Beasley, but the #1 target there and the design of the play should not be in question.
It's obvious.
