They knew they were going to be shopping him so that's probably why he was inactive on Sunday. They didn't want him getting injured at the last minute and killing the little trade value he had. Also, an injury could have potentially required them to keep him on the roster or pay an injury settlement.

If a team is willing to claim a guy off waivers, how can you not at least swindle them into a conditional seventh? Just seems a little crazy to me. But we are awful at trading away players.
A team that claims him assumes the contract. Someone with the Cardinals staff vouched for him…even off college tape.

We were likely shopping both Hill and Gallimore.

But we set up shop in the bazaar knowing none of the new GMs, no relationships, no network.

Remember Al Davis embraced a young Jerry Jones. That helped a lot.
