Back about 25 years or so ago, I applied for a job bartending at the casino on the rez I grew up on. I wasn't originally going to apply, considering I'm white I didn't think I had a chance, but was assured by people that worked there that I would be hired as I had a lot of experience bartending already and they were struggling behind the bar.

Anyway, when I got there to apply, I felt better since on top of the first page of the application in big, black, bold letters it said 'Equal Opportunity Employer'. The interview went well, and they actually had us test behind the bar making some basic drinks, and a blender drink. Both time and accuracy were noted. I nailed it.

I couple days later I received a call thanking me for my time, but they decided to hire another guy. (two, actually) Naturally, I was bummed but decided to head out to the casino to have a drink and check out who beat me out for the job. Holy shit... whatta couple of dumpster fires. They couldn't do shit. (yes, they were indian) Equal opportunity employer, my ass. As it turned out, one of them quit coming to work after about a week, and the other was fired for giving his buddies free drinks constantly. They called and offered me the job. :lol

As a side note, there were about 7-8 people applying for the job originally. I was the only white person. But if those two were what they hired... holy shit. How bad were the others? Especially since my pale face ass managed to get the job after the other two were gone?

The guy has unlimited money at this point in his life and yet this all reeks of a guy who is ready to make another fortune on making everyone tracked. The funny thing is everyone acts like this is something new. This shit has been going on with phone scams for decades now and still does. You'll get a call from a voice saying they are with the IRS and a warrant is being issued for your arrest, respond now and this can be resolved. The internet is no different, let's not act like this is suddenly the wild wild west. Hell the internet has been around a long time now. All the way back to AOL, dialup modems and message boards with people claiming to be a 16/m from Nevada.

None of this is some new scary threat. It's a threat that has been around for 30 years.

With regards to the whole animal thing I don't know if it's true or not. Is there some smoke saying both directions, yes. Do I have any idea what the truth is? Nope not at all. And just because some city administrator says there have been no credible reports does not make it untrue. No more than I can say for certain the people saying it is true are credible.

It's honestly something that is nearly impossible to prove as not being true. It's incredibly difficult to prove the negative like that. You'd have to investigate every Haitian and their activities for 100% of the time they lived there. It's just not possible. But it's also why when I read something like "It is worth noting that this incident in Canton is completely unrelated to the false claims being made in Springfield."

I just laugh. You can't really claim any of the claims are "false" because it's impossible to prove they are absolutely false. But I'll say I haven't seen enough to say they are true either.

It’s just as disingenuous to launch into the “it’s racism from the right wing to entertain the truth of these rumors.”

The funny thing is, it doesn't actually really even matter if it's true or not.

The whole point of talking about whether or not this is going on is to highlight how much of a major issue illegal immigration is and to throw a spotlight on it.

And well, mission accomplished. People are talking about it.
