Weird disease for sure. It would be extremely beneficial for us to let this variant run its course. We could do a lot to stop causing mutations. It seems as though we won't see significant deaths for non-seniors.

Not much we can do about mutations except ship unused vaccine by the ton to countries that don't have enough. That will help prevent the disease from festering and mutating in large populations of unvaccinated hosts.

I would very much agree with your sentiment...if things were slightly different.

Over 300 NFL players have caught Covid in the past 3 weeks. These players are MAX vax'd. 3 jabs...and still getting it. Why? The current vaccines are utterly worthless in preventing Omicron. So what's the point of using current vaccines here or abroad? They are worse than worthless. Won't hinder spread, won't hinder mutation. The Dr. who discovered Omicron in South Africa says cases are mild in vax'd and unvax'd. It's now basically a cold virus.

This is correct. People with vaccinations get it and spread it. Which means variants are going to come from vaccinated and unvaccinated alike.

I hear you, no one can possibly know for sure.

There’s some evidence regarding vax’ed, 20x the number of hospitalizations are unvax’ed.

Maybe that’s all Delta… point is no one has enough data since Omicron hit so fast, especially the doctor who first discovered it.

The Army just now developed a vaccine that targets all SARS-derived viruses, so there is at least some overlap across vaccines and mutation.

Pfizer booster improves antibody count vs. Omicron, and something is better than nothing ( which is what a lot of folks have access to ).

Please walk me through this. She is @the epicenter.
-She saw patients... old, young, vax'd, unvax'd...symptoms mild
-She knows the data: despite everyone being exposed to omicron hospitals never filled.
-People didn't die
-Most in the hospital were incidental, admitted for something else
-She now has seen Omicron/Covid fall as precipitously as it rose. Cases there are now falling like a rock
-Sniffles and sore throat and a few days feeling tired...this the profile over and over again.

What additional data does she need?
