They didn't shut down, just told their people to take precautions.Sweden?
I got chastised by some for even bringing up that this whole thing has in part due to knee jerk and politically charged hotheads and the recovery statics are almost hidden. Even today the press still are playing politics and have nothing to say about comparative stats to prior pandemics. It’s simply disgraceful at the actions that take priority over finding ways to get this behind us. The media and politicians are just stark raving insane about using this to stir the pot.The numbers that jump out at me from the USA is basically the same number of “recovered” as deaths...
Most countries have a larger base of recovered than dead, Germany is like 20 recovered for every death.
Probably has to do with the moment of the crisis, but going from those numbers you’d have a 50/50 chance in the USA if you get coronavirus.

What does what mean?What?
I mention that unlike most countries where the number of recovered patients is much bigger than the number of deaths in the US they're almost equal and you say something about the media and politics stirring the pot...?What does what mean?
Rest In peace in Peace
He dead
it depends on what the meaning of "is" isWhat does what mean?
Yea bugs me too JeriRest In peace in Peace
I was agreeing with you that the numbers needed to looked at more objectively.I mention that unlike most countries where the number of recovered patients is much bigger than the number of deaths in the US they're almost equal and you say something about the media and politics stirring the pot...?
Wait, what? The numbers that jump out at me from the USA is basically the same number of “recovered” as deaths...
Most countries have a larger base of recovered than dead, Germany is like 20 recovered for every death.

I think he's comparing the reported "recovered" numbers to the mortality numbersWait, what?
Forgive me, I don’t understand the logic there. Or am I reading it wrong?
They can’t be. How many people have had this and never even coughed or sniffled? How many people have tested positive and been sent home and since recovered?I think he's comparing the reported "recovered" numbers to the mortality numbers
Problem is I dont think the recovered numbers are accurately tracked and reported

Maybe I didn’t preface it enough.Wait, what?
Forgive me, I don’t understand the logic there. Or am I reading it wrong?
Thanks. You can get the number but it’s hard to find the percentage factor.I think he's comparing the reported "recovered" numbers to the mortality numbers
Problem is I dont think the recovered numbers are accurately tracked and reported

Was that your post he quoted?Maybe I didn’t preface it enough.
That is the thing, about 10% have "gone through the cycle" of the virus 55k of 550k. Of that 10%, 6% came out "recovered" while 4% died. If those numbers held up (and I really don't know why they're like that in the US) of the 500k still going 200k would be expected to die.I think he's comparing the reported "recovered" numbers to the mortality numbers
Problem is I dont think the recovered numbers are accurately tracked and reported
