I mean you can limit access to electronics pretty easily at that age. It's not like at 14 they can go pay for internet access/cell service or drive to a place that has free wifi. They really only have that stuff if you provide it as a parent. Now once a kid is 16 and starts a job, you really do become a bit helpless as a parent. I don't want my kids to ever know or understand that but reality is it is kind of true.

With a slight exception. Schools now give kids ipads. I think those computers are pretty restricted in terms of access but I guess it would be hard to control a kid on a device like that when they are at school.
Kids go to other kids houses all the time. They can find a way if they are determined.

I guess it depends how close their friends live, but that whole transportation thing is still a real challenge at 14.

Also could you imagine being like, hey friend, I need to come over so I can barrow your computer to whack it to virtual Danny? That's probably not a thing.

I wasn't necessarily talking about just this instance. Could be anything.

I see kids in our neighborhood all the time. You don't have to go far.

Yeah I mean if you think as a parent you can prevent your child from seeing porn for example, it's nearly impossible. And limiting electronics takes too much effort. I'll take the phone from my step daughter because I bought and paid for it. But she still has her IPad, TV, the desktop computer and basically any gaming device that still can access the internet. It would take massive effort on my part to completely cut her from the internet in just our house alone.
