Russia isn't "communist", economies like theirs and China are kind of a new mix that don't fall neatly into terms like traditional 1960s-style "communism". They're dictatorships with companies that are ran by cronies/friends of the dictator, but not fully nationalized and ran by a central committee.

It's kind of a decentralized communism but with a more modern approach to competing in global markets.

It's communism as far as the general public is concerned. Just because the have's have modernized their ability to gather riches doesn't change anything for those it concerns the most.

what are the possibilities about how this plays out? Putin seems hell bent on pushing this all the way. Where do we go from here? Some of the options are not good. I’m not expert in foreign affairs so I’m curious about what y’all see happening next. Does Russian go all in here?

I'm curious as well. Clearly, they are betting we don't get involved but will Europe? Hell, I used to be afraid of their military but they don't look like shit to me.

Vote in this poll and you can see how little the American public trusts our media.

😂

I think you can mostly trust the american mainstream media in this case. Trump isn't involved.

Seriously. I don't trust the America mainstream media much at all, but Putin is a very low bar.

I was under the impression that Communism was predicated on the Government having and distributing the wealth. The heiarchy was the determinant of who got what. I assume then Russia was never truly a Communistic regime.
Well in that sense no regime is truly Communist.

You're thinking of just the people that are being distributed too. The oligarchs and other upper leadership are not included in this. Why would you think that? Yes, Russia was/is truly a Communist state. They are no different than any other Communist country where the people are left out in the cold while the upper crust sit by the fire with full pockets and fat bellies.
Russia is not currently a Communist country; but still a corrupt one.

It depends on who's doing the assassinating.

It has to be an inside job and not someone from the US or NATO, otherwise we'll get dragged into another war.

But yeah, I'd like to see someone double tap him in the head from close range.

Yep. He needs to go away forever. I hate that vile motherfucker. But, it can't be done by anyone with any connection to the US or NATO at all. I posted (and deleted) that Graham isn't wrong. I deleted it because it could have been misconstrued as meaning I want us in a full blown war. I do not. But, Graham is right. Take out Putin and a lot of this nonsense goes away. Yes, someone will replace him, but things change drastically normally when a dictator gets taken out.
