This guy should recognize that he wants to hold a position in the institution of the church but wants to pick and choose what is acceptable to him. This is the worst kind of Christian church leader. Either accept what was established centuries ago and conform or leave but don't try to reframe an ideology that you think how it should be. Leave the church and create your own institution but don't call it a Christian institution because it would not be.

The church isn't about control. The church offers you the ability to worship with those of like mind and to teach the Bible. The Bible is God's word and it offers you the teachings of God and the shows the consequences of choices you make. It doesn't remove free will . Behave how you want and reap the consequences of what you sow. It isn't that difficult.
