Ok, my set up at this moment is:

TCL 85-Inch QM85 QLED TV
Denon AVR-S760H 7.2 Ch AVR Receiver
Panasonic DP-UB820-K Streaming 4K Blu Ray Player
Apple TV 4k
to handle streaming as it's the best device to process the apps and streaming images (even though my consoles also handle apps) (also, the reason I'm not handling streaming on the TV's native apps is because I want them to play through the receiver, which I could do if I ran everything through the HDMI ARC port, but that port is only 4k 30 hz, and I want to utilize the 4k 60hz HDMI port, but then, that port isn't ARC, so it won't send that audio to the receiver then. So I just got a separate and better device for handling all the streaming apps - Netflix, Apple TV, Disney Plus, etc).
Xbox Series X
Playstation 5

Two Klipsch R-51M Bookshelf Speakers (replaced malfunctioning left and right front speakers)
Existing Klipsch Center and Left and Right Surround Speakers left over from when I moved in (uncertain model).

I'm relatively satisfied.

Sound is good. Great for gaming. UHD Blu Rays look fantastic and I'm not an audiophile, so I'm impressed when I hear the bullets fly by my head in Saving Private Ryan or the jets zoom by in Top Gun Maverick. I had to adjust the audio delay on the Panasonic's input on the receiver to 240ms because apparently for DVDs and such, the audio gets through the receiver to the TV faster than the picture does sometimes, and I was finding on all the DVDs I was hearing the audio and then seeing lips move just SLIGHTLY after and it was bothering the fuck out of me.

I don't have a subwoofer, but I'm not entirely sure I am missing one. Maybe it's something where I don't know what I'm missing till I see it, but I had an all-in-one system previously (much cheaper, it was like $200 for everything, Onkyo brand) and it had a subwoofer, and I don't recall being that much more impressed by it. I would say I'm more impressed on the whole right now (perhaps cause the Klipsch speakers are better in general).

I'd also have to either get an adapter for my receiver so that I could have a blue tooth subwoofer, or, I'd have to have a tech come run another wire in my ceiling to run the sub from the front of the room to the receiver in the closet.

Another thing I'm considering is some sort of IR repeater because some of the remotes don't work if I don't have line of sight, so I have to leave the closet door open if I want to control something with that particular remote. Not the end of the world - the biggest purpose of having everything in the closet is for it to look neat and be out of sight when I want it to be out of sight. I don't care if I have to leave the closet door open when I'm watching a movie, because most of the time it will be night and the room will be dark. What I don't want is to have to have all the equipment permanently sitting out.

Finally: Perhaps this is a function of buying a $1700 85" TV and not a $3500 85" TV, but I do get a lot of motion blurring or judder (not sure of the right term). But if I turn on motion clarity or anything meant to fix that on the TV itself, I get unwatchable soap opera effect.

The motion blur is annoying and distracting in fast moving scenes, but the soap opera effect is always present and is way, way more jarring. I guess I have to just put up with the motion blur unless anyone has any other suggestions.

The all-in-one subwoofers aren't even in the same stratosphere. But truth is you don't know what you're missing until you hook up a fancy new subwoofer. I always had the sound bars with subwoofer and such previously as well and I hardly noticed the subwoofer. But I hooked up a speaker system more akin to yours and bought a reasonably priced subwoofer ($200-$300 I think) and it's amazing. And hell my receiver can handle 2 subs but I utilize the second for the seat shakers in my theater seats.

Certainly you're good but I'd have to say when watching a movie, a legit sub makes a massive difference. Or even some video games, it really makes it so immersive. Anyway, enough on that topic. But some day you may want to get that figured out, it will be worth it. But you can take your time. That's the nice thing about a receiver. You can build the system out over time as opposed to getting new all at once.

I think it's a problem of your refresh rate. But your TV is probably going to limit any fix to what you have tried. Not sure if there are any settings to adjust on the Apple TV to correct this. I also wonder if you'd have the same issue if streaming on the TVs native apps. I know that causes a problem since you don't want to run the ARC. Not sure if an optical cable for audio is an option or not.

Well, I was just having the issue playing a UHD 4k Blu Ray (Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring - Extended Edition - from the 4k disc release not long ago).

I mean, that's as clean as I can get it. It's playing from ultra quality on a high end disc player (as high end as can be without spending over a thousand on a blu ray player), directly to a very good receiver, then over a long-ish 40 foot HDMI cable, sure, but run to my nice new TV's 4k 60hz HDMI port.

I also own the movie on streaming, so maybe I should test it out on Apple TV streaming as well, watch the same scenes on 4k streaming vs 4k disc, and see what I notice.

But I think it's a TV issue and that's why the TV has options for motion clarity, its just that those options make my eyes bleed.

Yeah if it was 120 hz not sure you'd have the problem.

I'm sorry.

I've been misspeaking.

The ARC port is 4k 60hz, not 30.

And the other, the one I'm using, is 4k 120 hz.

So that shouldn't be it.
Hmm, wonder if you have a good enough hdmi cable then.

It was a $100+ cable from Monoprice, which I understand is a reputable seller online.

I know those cables at those longer lengths can be troublesome, but....

It's not like it's pixelating. It's just motion blur, which as I understand it is a relatively common thing.

I just am curious if there are other ways to stop it or improve it.

Yeah wasn't sure if you were running an HDMI from the previous owner or if you put a new one in. But in all honesty it could be the TV. I have a 77 inch OLED and don't have any issues like that. But I run native apps and then my PS5 through the surround sound at 120 hz.

We've been needing some outdoor speakers for awhile and I wanted to continue adding Klipsch speakers to the collection but they are so expensive and I'm a cheap mf'er.

The Aw-650's are what I've been wanting, but they are nearly $700.

Found a place on eBay selling them for $300 so did the deal and couldn't be happier.

These bitches are LOOOOOUuuuddd!

Next step is to acquire a high-end receiver.

I'm not into anything fancy, but some decent old speakers I've had forever seem to have gone bad on me, and I'm shocked at how much even average used speakers cost now. Wow. But that's not a case where technology has really changed, either.

I've got 2 Subs hooked up to mine and love it.

I would do a quick search on your phone to see what amps it can handle, then you can get them anywhere. I got one for my dad at BestBuy a few weeks ago and I think it was 25 or so dollars for IIRC a 40 amp charger. There are probably hundreds on Amazon.

Since I'm here, are you still with the Motorola?
