And his ancient Russian history bit was very unpersuasive. I think we all agree on that. But you have to admit he's right about NATO marching eastward to their doorstep when we agreed to not do exactly that after the Soviet Union collapsed.

If China did that in Mexico, we'd be rightly pissed, too. In fact we were when the USSR did it in Cuba. Almost got us all blown to bits. (Or we wouldn't be here in the first place.)

I never understood this about politics. You'd think we would try and elect the best and the brightest for the highest position in the United States. Or just politics in general.
Oh my young idealistic padawan... I remember when I once thought this also.

Very true, but I think the point was to at least hear it from his own mouth rather than full our regime media telling us what he says and wants.

Might not agree with him, probably won't, but at least it's him speaking unfiltered.
It is kind of funny, as American's we act a little better than. Like propaganda is something that you only see in these foreign oppressed countries. But it's 100% a legit thing here as well. We have freedom of speech to sort of combat it and you don't have that in other countries. But as we have all seen there are plenty of ways to try and suppress free speech that happen in the United States. I mean the criminal justice system has been weaponized to suppress speech indirectly.

When was the last time we elected someone on their intellect? Reagan? 40 fucking years ago?
Well Reagan wasn't the smartest either, not that he wasn't smart enough to be president. This isn't really about maximum intelligence anyway, it's more about getting results. Looking too much for "intelligence" is what gets you Jason Garrett.

But to answer your question, I don't know. Maybe FDR or Woodrow Wilson, who was an absolute disaster.

Biden is uniquely stupid, though. Lower third of his law school class at Syracuse or whatever mediocre law school it was... And that's before his brain was cooked.

True, but this is a relatively recent phenomenon here. Not propaganda from certain powers that be, but the weaponization of the courts.

Besides the FBI, the DOJ is the most corrupt institution in our government.

What does he report?

He gives his OPINION on what everyone else reports. Nothing journalistic about that.

Would you think that an op-ed in the newspaper is reporting/journalism? Fack no it's not.
More lies from the board's "own Donald Trump," let's call him.

Conducting interviews is a hallmark of journalism.

Just cause you don't like him and because he also has an opinion platform doesn't make him not a journalist.

It'll be interesting but it's likely going to be a propaganda spot (as everything Putin does) with Putin likely trying to convince the American public that they have no interest in the war, that it's a waste of money, Ukraine is actually the aggressor, Russia is just protecting itself, so on and so forth.

Will be interesting either way.
No doubt Putin will frame it like that, but the thing is, all those things are at least partially true.

You aren't gonna get the whole truth from Putin and he's not a person I'd be in a hurry to be allied with, but, our media and political machine has gotten too far into bed with Ukraine and sometimes you need an extreme system shock to break out of it.

Putin's gonna lie to us. Is that different than what Zylinski has done?

You should know I'm definitely not trolling.

The guy is a fucking slug. Anyone who sucks up to a known liar professing that somehow you will get the truth out of him is insane.

And when I say known liar, you can take your pick... Trump or Putin. But go ahead and listen to it. Buy into it, as a matter of fact.

All of us on this board have been led around by the nose by a con-man for over 30 years now. You'd think you'd have learned your lesson, but apparently not.
The only person who hasn't learned anything on here is you.

You keep saying Trump is a con - man as if any of us don't realize it.

The part you aren't getting is that Biden, Hillary, the MSM, etc, are BIGGER CON MEN.

I want to at least hear the lies from both sides instead of just one side.

I'm about halfway through watching it but so far it's about what I expected. Putin throwing out some revanchist bullshit to justify the war going all the way back to 1654 or some irrelevant nonsense, how large swathes of Ukraine are actually Russian (and yet somehow they've barely been able to take any land over 2 years despite the population supposedly yearning to be part of Russia), how the US supposedly turned him down several times on security deals and such.

What it comes down to is Putin wants things to be one way (he wants the world to be multi-polar as it was during the Cold War where the USSR/Russia had nearly as much sway as the US) but it's the other way and he has to deal with it.

Ultimately I think the best solution is to just let this dickhead hold onto the little land they've actually taken, end the war, admit Ukraine to NATO based on those new borders and tell him to fuck off.
Putin isn't a good guy, but I hearken back to the interventionist debates I had with like, TN Cowboy over China.

THEY ARE GOING TO INVADE TAWAIN! WAR IS COMING! THEY WANT TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD!

It's like, dude, you have to see it from China's point of view. Taiwan is like Cuba to them. Or Puerto Rico. They think it's part of their country just like we almost went to Nuclear WW3 over Cuba.

Of course most of what he's saying is bullshit. Doesn't mean hearing the Russian perspective isn't important.

It's amazing how the sides switch, cause like the Ron Paul supporter you used to claim to be, we can't go all war-mongery on Russia any more than we could on China back in the day.

And you know, maybe the world should go back to being multi-polar. Why do we want to keep being the world's policeman? It costs a fuck-ton.

But it also ensures dollar hegemony, so there's that.

There's something to be said that the US is using all this control worldwide so they can keep enforcing their access to credit cards and wealth without working for it.

The US became an industrial giant and economic power through hard work. Now we export moronic culture and expect to keep living the high life. No one works anymore.

And yes, whereas it was the Bush era pushing the anti-China debate, now it's the Left who needs everyone to believe that Russia is the bad guy. They are lying to us too.
