This is like politics was originally intended in this country, 200 years ago. An every day citizen could run for office, and actually have a chance to win. You didn't have to be a rich elite that could throw money hand over fist at an election.

It's not even about money and being a rich elite. It's all about being an insider in a political party for the most part. We have seen this trend breaking, specific with Trump and now with an instance like this. It's kind of cool that you don't need the backing of the massive political party to have a chance in an election.

I think the majority of Americans are tired of our current two party political system. They are sick of both sides. So, new fresh blood is very appealing to most people.
