I mean the BOI has been stayed by judges so I support some holds.
As do I. Obviously, I’ll never support an activist judge blocking something for their own political motivations, but acting like it’s “illegal” for them to do is untrue, and Vance knows it.

The tweet assumes "legitimate power" The judge is saying that this "might not be legitimate" I very much disagree with the decision. But Judges have this authority.

You should explain that to people on this forum who blindly follow whatever their Trump loving handlers tell them.

I mean the fact is that the finances need to be reviewed and congress can't be trusted to accomplish shit. It's like expecting the bank robber to investigate the bank robbery. You'll never get anywhere.

I'm not a constitutional lawyer, but aren't the decisions that Vance is referring to as being “illegal” the ones that are going to be overturned on appeal? Making them more or less stall tactics... And therefore costing even more taxpayer money?

I am not completely sure, but don't you think Trump would have run these EO’s by his lawyers before signing them?

IMO, he is also doing this specifically so that presidents can and will be set going forward... IE “birthright citizenship”, he wants the courts to finally rule on the original intent of the 14th amendment. According to:

The principal framer John Armor Bingham said during the 39th United States Congress two years before its passing:[41]

I find no fault with the introductory clause, which is simply declaratory of what is written in the Constitution, that every human being born within the jurisdiction of the United States of parents not owing allegiance to any foreign sovereignty is, in the language of your Constitution itself, a natural-born citizen; but, sir, I may be allowed to say further that I deny that the Congress of the United States ever had the power, or color of power to say that any man born within the jurisdiction of the United States, not owing a foreign allegiance, is not and shall not be a citizen of the United States.

And

The clause's meaning with regard to a child of immigrants was tested in United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898).[49] The Supreme Court held that under the Fourteenth Amendment, a man born within the United States to Chinese citizens who have a permanent domicile and residence in the United States and are carrying out business in the United States—and whose parents were not employed in a diplomatic or other official capacity by a foreign power—was a citizen of the United States.

I think it is rather clear at the current concept of an “anchor baby” was never intended and should be deemed unconstitutional.

Trump is, metaphorically speaking, running things up the flagpole and see who salutes. It is going to be a very interesting couple of years for the Supreme Court.

Good lord.
Mindless idiots.

You know the one thing you'd think every idiot could agree on. Smaller government, reduced spending and better efficiency. Something every single human in America should want. And dumbasses flip out because those things are actually happening. It's like people claim to want change but as soon as it actually happens they can't handle it.

I get that not everyone wants small government. It's one of the main differences between the left and the right.

But even if you favor more spending generally, you absolutely should be in favor of eliminating waste and fraud. THAT should not be a partisan issue and it's insane that the left is making it such.

They're the beneficiaries of the waste and fraud. Of course they don't want it to go away.

Efficiency is the most important thing. Why spend 10 bills when you can get the same results for 1 bill. This isn't rocket science. And yes, efficiency does ultimately mean smaller government. Unless you shift the efficiency savings into some other spending. Which is still better. And something the Left should love. But the start is cutting to get more efficiency.

Most of them aren't. We aren't talking about cutting food stamps or welfare checks. They don't benefit from a hotel owned by a foreign person being paid millions to house illegal immigrants. These people don't benefit from sex change studies in another country. They are just idiots. I'll get the freak out when someone's free ride from the government is cut off. But we haven't even gotten to that point yet.

Don't get me wrong there are people who benefit from that waste. But it's a very few minority. It's a Senators wife or a President's best friend or some other bullshit connection. But those aren't the people singing in the street to stop Doge.

More efficiency does not mean necessarily smaller government. You can stop spending $1000 on a bag of nails while still maintaining the same budget. They're separate issues.
