Don't get me wrong there are people who benefit from that waste. But it's a very few minority. It's a Senators wife or a President's best friend or some other bullshit connection.

They are mostly the loudest voices, and they try to obfuscate what's really happening by painting it as either a constitutional crisis or as the death of people that we're spending money to support. Neither is true but it's how they get the useful idiots (see below) to froth at the mouth.

But those aren't the people singing in the street to stop Doge.

These are the useful idiots.

Most of them aren't. We aren't talking about cutting food stamps or welfare checks. They don't benefit from a hotel owned by a foreign person being paid millions to house illegal immigrants. These people don't benefit from sex change studies in another country. They are just idiots. I'll get the freak out when someone's free ride from the government is cut off. But we haven't even gotten to that point yet.

We're talking tens (or hundreds) of billions of dollars. That much money isn't all going to spouses and cronies. These are massive operations that are benefiting lots and lots of people. USAID alone employs something like 10,000 people.

More efficiency does not mean necessarily smaller government. You can stop spending $1000 on a bag of nails while still maintaining the same budget. They're separate issues.

No but you have to stop the 1000 bag of chips before you can look at buying something else with the savings. I agree ultimately though, which is what I was trying to say.

Of course I'd rather see savings passed on in the form of less taxes. But I get that this is where Liberals get touchy. If I didn't pay taxes I probably wouldn't care.

Democrats: Ummm?!?! Who will pick our crops????

RFK Jr.: I want to put an end to the rise of Chronic Diseases in children.

Trump: We should look into ending all Incomes taxes on tips, overtime and social security.
Democrats: WTF!! What about egg prices?!?

Elon: We should investigate how members of Congress making low end 6-figure salaries become multi-millionaires.
Democrats: PANIC!! Billionaire Musk will have access to your home address and social security number!

Hegseth: We shouldn’t spend billions protecting foreign borders, while completely ignoring our own.
Democrats: WHAT ABOUT EGG PRICES?!?

RFK Jr.: We need to ban toxic dyes and bring awareness to the negative impacts on Fluoride in our water.
Democrats: SOMEONE, STOP HIM!! He is a crazy conspiracy theorist!!!

Trump: I am protecting women’s sports by signing an Executive Order to ban biological males from biological female’s sports.
Democrats: HORRIBLE!!! Only evil people would do such awful things to transgender women!!!

Elon: Should we audit the IRS next?
Democrats: The Rocket Scientist is, like, the dumbest billionaire, like, ever!


Make it make sense. They are incapable of seeing anything Trump does in a positive light. He could cure cancer and they'd bitch about it.

Which begs the question, if they are running on the strategy of “common sense” politics, what are the Democrats going to counter with? He is more or less painting them into a corner... Because if one side is using common sense, what would you do to oppose that?
