And for those idiots that go "good luck with your AR facing a tank/nuke/drone"

Not only that, but the VAST majority of the Airmen, Sailors, Soldiers, and Marines that they would need to operate these things would go tell the powers that be to go fuck themselves. From the highest officers to the lowest enlisted men. And I believe we'd see the same from our police forces across the country, too.
I, _, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.
That second line of the oath of enlistment that I bolded also hammers something very important into servicemen from the very beginning. That it is your duty to disobey all unlawful orders. (as in, you can go to jail or even be put to death if given a direct order to do something unlawful, and you follow that order. Regardless of who gave the order to begin with) And I can think of no order more unlawful than being told to turn against your own country and it's citizens.
Aside from all of the active duty that would stand up against these unlawful orders, there is a metric shit ton of veterans out there that would stand against this if the government was to move against it's own people. And I have zero doubt that there would also be millions of citizens, though they may have never served, that would still stand up and fight for their country if the need were to arise.
