Packers Stuff....

So the US is getting obliterated in the Ryder Cup and we're pretty much guaranteed to get destroyed tomorrow night.

About the only decent game I can think of is hoping the Bucs can upset Philly.

I don't really care for sports right now.

That's kind of surprising. Maybe they wanted a little quickness?

I wonder if it's partly so we don't have to see Tolbert on returns anymore?

Well, Tolbert is a starter now, so you can’t risk him on returns.

:lol

It was nice knowing you.

Jerry's not moving off Dak and paying all that dead cap money.

Also, next year's QB draft class looks kind of bleak. None of them scream franchise QB to me.

I won’t freak out if they don’t this year. The consensus is that 2027 will be better.

I want us to go 1-15.
Unfortunately I think it takes a complete collapse over a couple seasons for Jones to shut up and get his face shoved in a pile of shit.
With today’s NFL so evenly matched, it’s difficult for most teams to just completely disintegrate.
Dallas has just enough decent players to keep them in that 6-10 win range for awhile.

Realistically Dak will be 34 in 2027, so the team should at least be considering the position then. Despite his clear physical resurgence this year, Dak has not been as healthy as some other QBs who believe they'll play into their 40's. He's not been as bad as Burrow or Romo (36) wrt his health, but he's been nowhere as clean as Brady (45), Moon (44), or Favre (41) were.

He might be closer to Rodgers (42) who was let go by Green Bay at age 39. Dak's contract covers him through age 35. If you look at Rodger's ratings from age 36-39 (36- 95.4, 37-121.5, 38-111.9, 39- 91.1 and 65/65 of regular season games played) the Packers got good production out of that last 3 year contract (though it was expensive).

If Dallas look to be at all competitive ahead of in 2028, I'm sure we'll see a similar kind of new contract. But if Dallas disappoints again in 2027, I could see the Joneses pulling the trigger in 2028.

Good teams draft their next QB ahead of losing their current one, even if it pisses them off.

Despite their track record, the Joneses actually perceive of themselves as being a good management team, so they might do it. But it would be 2028, I think

Dak needs to consistently play at this level for me to mostly ignore QB in the draft, including in the playoffs.

That doesn't mean we should reach for a QB just because, but we should have our eyes out for any and all opportunities unless Dak can play at this level consistently throughout the regular season and into the playoffs over the next few years.

Exactly, it's still very early yet. Let's see if he keeps this up all year and next year. If he does, I might change my opinion on getting a new QB. But I doubt it.

I doubt it too. I would rather try to accomplish acquiring a new qb while we had the extra resources to do it, if it's 2027, that's fine.

For now I just let it come to me. If the right QB is there and available do it. If not, then just wait. What you don't want to do is pass up a guy you love in the next draft or two and then be forced to just take a QB because you're desperate in say 2028. But I'm also not going to just take a QB in 2026 or 2027 because we have to take one.

I really like the idea of taking a QB because you like him rather than because you're desperate, and then letting the young guy sit and learn behind your established vet for a year or two.

The Packers have done it twice in a row (Rodgers when they had Favre and Love when they had Rodgers) and it's been working out well for them.

Problem is that we like guys like DiNucci.

Yeah and as far as the QBs are concerned I don't love the 2026 class right now. My guess is a lot of these guys that were considered top guy in 2026 may return to school because of bad years. Which may set the stage for a great 2027 QB draft.

Yea and the best looking guy right now (Moore at Oregon) really needs another year anyway.

All of the guys projected as potential top 10ish picks this year have looked like varying degrees of ass.
