I understand the reasoning behind the trade. It just sucks for yall that it had to be Harden. He was a joke "superstar" in the past and just going to get worse as he ages. He is just a tease for the fanbase. Here's the thing about Harden.
You can question him all you want. That's fine. I think based on the current state of the team the Sixers needed Harden to step up and he wasn't able to, because of Embiid's health and how much attention Embiid got on every possession.
That's not the point though.
The Sixers were stuck between a rock and a hard place with Simmons with no leverage. Who else were they going to trade for? Getting a player of Harden's caliber for Simmons was best case scenario.
Harden isn't a top 5, top 10 or whatever player but that's fine. He wasn't brought in to save the franchise, he was brought in to salvage a bad situation with Simmons.
And honestly they're better off with Harden than Simmons, or at least no worse.
If your takeaway is that Harden isn't clutch or isn't elite or whatever you guys are saying, you've missed the point entirely. That's not why he's in Philly.
Man, if we win this series...I am glad Dallas won. They will be my rooting interest from here on out.
As an aside, competitive series and I called it.

You sonofa...Mavs can lose out. Thank you very much.
Especially coming off a blowout loss.Again, I'm indifferent on the outcome and probably lean slightly toward Dallas if anything, but I'd be shocked if Phoenix doesn't win game 7 at home, and likely in blowout fashion.
Game 7 can do weird things to a team's mindset though.
Yes they were.No they were not. A ton of people were even saying the sixers lost that trade, which is absurd.
The sixers supporting cast is garbage after the top 4. That's the issue, along with Embiid's health.
The point about Harden is he quits when his back is against the wall and when he doesn't get his way. Here's the thing about Harden.

That fag has always been that way. He is a diva. The point about Harden is he quits when his back is against the wall and when he doesn't get his way.
The funny thing is it didn't have to be Harden. NBA insiders have been pointing out all day that there were other teams interested in Simmons but Morey (Sixers GM) has such a huge boner for Harden that he was hell bent on waiting out the Nets.I understand the reasoning behind the trade. Yes they were.
The Embiid/Harden are the new Kobe/Shaq comments were flying around left and right after their first 2 or 3 games together.![]()
That's definitely false.I don't think Embiid wants him there either.

Did you listen to his post-game comments throughout the series? That's definitely false.
There certainly were more than a "couple people".No. A couple people maybe. Certainly not "most", as you claimed.
This season is over for the Sixers, but now they have an offseason to build around these players. Let's not write the Embiid/Harden epitaph just yet. They're good players and a good fit together. We'll see what they can build.
