Interesting little back and forth going right now between Shaq and Javale McGee on Twitter.

How did it start?

I know Shaq had him on his Shaqtin a fool thing, but I'm assuming McGee said something via twitter to him about it?

I'm not sure. I didn't really see a starting point. Maybe I should go back and look again.

Shaq's been taking pot shots at McGee for years and on Thursday night he clowned McGee with a Dr. Strange spoof video on the NBA on TNT pregame show. McGee finally had enough and responded on Twitter.

I know you Sixers fans are excited about the draft picks but honestly I don't see much improvement in the franchise. Sure Embiid has shown flashes but one could also make the argument that he's going to be the next Bill Walton, Greg Oden, etc.....the talented big man whose career was quickly derailed by a series of injuries.

Then you have this news about Ben Simmons having to be shut down for the year due to his foot not healing properly. Apparently those Jones fractures are tricky for big guys like Simmons. That was the concern with Kevin Durant as well. KD had to have two surgeries on his foot to get it right. So you have the Simmons injury concerns on top of the fact that he honestly didn't look overly impressive to me while he was at LSU. My opinion has always been that he's closer to a Lamar Odom type of talent than a superstar player that you build your franchise around.

Bottom line, it just seems like the franchise is still spinning its wheels. It's like their only plan of action is to remain in the lottery in hopes that one day they'll win it and land the next Lebron. I get that you need those types of superstar players to win championships but there's also something to be said for teaching young guys like Simmons & Embiid how to win. The way things are going those guys are going to hit the end of their rookie contracts with bad habits deeply ingrained into them and all they're going to know is losing.

Sixers have more than doubled their win total from last year, with about 25 games still left to play. That's literally not spinning your wheels. Kind of the exact opposite actually. And that's with Embiid playing 31 games and Simmons not playing at all.

That's not to mention a potential pick swap with Sacramento this season, either a top 3 protected Lakers pick this season or unprotected next season, an unprotected 2019 Sacramento pick, plus all their own.

The sixers are in very good shape.
