I don't understand this at all. The ONE person that has generated any interest in their shitty league, and they continually do this.

Why?

And why doesn't the league do something to stop this?
She should leave that awful league and go play in Europe where she'll both get paid more and be treated better.

Leave this WGAS league to die.

You guys are hilarious. Lots of other players get hit the same amount as Caitlin Clark, the difference is no one makes a big deal out of it. You guys don't watch the WNBA so you only have social media to go by.

I've watched games where WGAS players take the exact same hits, and no one says anything about it. It doesn't lead SportsCenter and it doesn't trend on Twitter. But as soon as Clark takes one of those hits, it's national news. :lol It's click bait is all it is.

But I do think there is an element of jealousy out there. A player who is shooting 36% from the field (29% from 3-pt range) is getting treated like Jordan/Steph/Lebron while much better players don't receive near the buzz.

About a month ago I pointed out how Wesbrook gets heckled and called Westbrick for shooting 40% from the field and 30% from 3-point range. Clark puts up those numbers as she's celebrated like she's Jesus in high-tops.

I get that, although she's pretty much the only player who has mass appeal and the league is trying to raise its profile/garner more attention with her as the player the general public pays attention to. I don't think the league or anybody else has more of a vested interest than that, and you'd think the rest of the players would appreciate it to some extent.

It's all stupid and pointless to me because it's a league with a trash product that I will never watch four minutes of unless I'm forced to as part of some ill-fated bullshit, but that's the reality of what's happening.

This is my point. You guys are openly admitting you don't watch the sport in one breath, then in the next complaining that she's being singled out and picked on. How do you know if she's being singled out if you don't watch?

People who actually watch the WNBA on a regular basis know that what Caitlin Clark goes through is WIDESPREAD throughout the league. The difference is if someone body checks Allisha Gray there isn't going to be a massive public reaction.

IMO a better conversation to nip all this in the bud is for the WNBA to change their rules to make things easier for stars like Clark. We've seen every other major sports league do this. NHL changed rules to get the goons out of the sport to create more scoring. The NFL is constantly changing their rules to benefit the offense, and when star players get hurt they change rules to outlaw specific plays that led to said injuries. It's time for the WNBA to do the same. Because right now they're playing 80s/90s style of b-ball. They're allowed to do stuff that's not allowed in today's NBA.

Unserious.

To be fair they took their cue from the soft ass era that's been fostered by the NBA and LeBron.

There have been a lot of instances in the last few years where fans are getting tossed from NBA games for very mild heckling. Witnesses within earshot have even said that no profanity or racial stuff was said but fans still get removed from the game, just because players are feeling extra sensitive that day.

Also remember the Mavs organization kicking people out for Fire Nico signs and such.

Question then, 1big... So it's routine for players to come bump other players even long after the whistle like in that Clark vid? That's already outside the rules, so why aren't they enforcing that?

Do you enjoy regularly watching the WNBA? Honest question, not sure I've ever talked to an actual fan of the league?

I watch about 2-3 games a week. I watched last night's Liberty vs Lynx game on ESPN.

Poked in the eye. Play is over body checked and then a second girl comes and body checks her? Is that really regular in the WNBA because the feels a bit out of control?

And for some reason Clark seems to get hit in the face and eye area a lot. But maybe thats going on with everyone?

I'm more talking about stopping the game and the girl going to the locker room over her wig.

That would be like the NBA pausing a game so that LeBron could go to the locker room and adjust his hair piece.
