This is the most I’ve paid attention to bball in decades, so excuse me if I’m late on the train with this evolution to 3pt ball. I’m still used to the era of Ewing, Olajuwon, Shaq.

You know my interest in NFL analytics and seeing how it’s being applied toNBA was intriguing while I wait for NFLs return.

There are phases, trends and philosophies that come and go, but the stats insinuate that long 2pters are dead.

Kyrie is a GREAT player.

One of the truly elite guards of the last 10 years.

But he's fucking nuts and he's totally unreliable.

After losing Brunson, the Mavs night get desperate and while I wouldn't hate the move for Kyrie, I also know it could end in total disaster.

He is, but I don't blame him for this.
Neither do I. My guess is he wants to get away from Kyrie's weird, unreliable ass.

However, if what Brian Windhorst is saying is true about KD still wanting to play with Kyrie but just not in Brooklyn, then that changes things for me.

Yep, me too. If he realizes his mistake in hitching his wagon to Kyrie, I can't blame him for that. The timing supports this because he asked out almost immediately after Kyrie opted in on his contract.

But if the reports are true that Durant is open to playing with Kyrie, only that he doesn't want to be in Brooklyn for some reason then yeah, Durant pretty much orchestrated this situation in Brooklyn in the first place so I'm going to blame him all day.

Durant is a weird, insecure bitch.

He should have just stayed the nice, likable guy he was in OKC, but then someone convinced him he had to turn all hard and tough, and he lost his mind.

Pretty much hate the Warriors, but glad they won another title without him just to further cheapen the one he got there.

Dude has only played about 80 games in 3 years and he played with severe minutes restrictions in half of those games. Yet he still got the max contract.

New Orleans hands were kinda tied though. So I can't fault them.

I just don't think his idiocy is worth it. Yes he's immensely talented, but it hasn't paid off for any team in quite a while. And even when it did that was mostly prime Lebron doing the heavy lifting.

I don't think the Mavericks are desperate enough to have to do this. They need to replace Brunson I guess but I don't think it needs to be with a top tier talent.

I also am not sure Kyrie and Luka are a great basketball fit together, although I'm sure they'd make it work.

What's become very clear is that Durant isn't a leader. He's not the kind of guy who can carry a franchise.

A lot of people owe Westbrook an apology for those OKC days. I remember when they'd trash Westbrook for not settling into the Robin role and allowing Durant to be the Batman. I think it's pretty clear by now that Durant prefers being a Robin.

Oof. That could easily blow up in their faces. I get why they'd do it because if it pays off it could pay off big. But you could easily argue they'd have been better off trading him before that contract becomes difficult to move.

There's a rumor that the Lakers are trying to trade Westbrook for Kyrie.

If that happens, Westbrook paired with Ben Simmons would be possibly the worst constructed roster of all time. :lol

James Harden opting out and accepting 10 or 15 million less so that the Sixers can afford to bring in quality depth is an all timer move. Huge props to Harden.

It's basically what I wanted to see Dak do.

Well the Rockets signed Tate so that pretty much means they win everything.

IIRC, this is what Lebron & Wade did in order to fit Bosh and other pieces onto the Heat roster.

When superstars team up, someone needs to leave money on the table in order to avoid having a roster that's too top heavy.

That was one of the downfalls of my Thunder post-KD. Westbrook & Paul George basically took every penny possible and we didn't have enough money for decent free agents to help them out. And you know players aren't taking discounts to play and live in OKC like they sometimes do for destination locations like Miami, LA, or Chicago.
