It’s a saying when addressing locations especially when conversing with someone from afar. If something is close to you then it might be depicted as being in the back yard. The division championship with NDSU is played in Frisco a nearby town. I suppose you were then using this same depiction for Burton Gilliam and he was misplaced somewhere in my metaphoric backyard ?
You take things too literal, man. He was obviously just joking around with you. Nobody actually believes that a college football championship game was played in your backyard.

I do know the saying. I didnt know where it was played but thought you were just saying that you were watching it on TV on your patio. I just got a chuckle at it sounding like you had them in your backyard is all.

I do take things literally if they aren’t couched with punctuation or little graphics or something that depicts the question or response is just frivolous conversation. I guess I’m not intelligent enough to discern ones intent. My encounters with a persons moods was a different type dialogue when things were being said in jest with people in my age group. You could tell when they were pulling your leg so to speak.

I can’t discern sarcasm as an example in a stated sentence because my work back ground and training has been to correspond and correlate things that are actual rather than what is intended. This to say I will take everything literal unless there is something used to couch the communication.

Okay. I wanted to make sure I understood what you were saying.

When I'm pulling someone's leg, I always wear an onion on my belt so that they know.

They Shall Not Grow Old was outstanding. An amazing look back to a war fought a hundred years ago.

the original probably wasn't "diverse" enough, which is a sin nowadays

Just curious. Was there ever an all-female pirate crew back in the day?

I remember a Pirates of the Caribbean porno spoof where the pirates were all chicks back in the late 2000's if that counts
