The Detroit Tigers traded Doug Fister to the Washington Nationals for three players: left-handed pitching prospect Robbie Ray, left-handed reliever Ian Krol, and utility man Steve Lombardozzi.
Yes, September call up. Full time in 2015. Pretty similar career arc to Trout so far. This coming year? Doubtful. Unless it is a September call up.
Centerfield will be between Presley and Hicks this year.
Well I guess we could face him in the World Series next year if Washington gets there. From what I read the Tigers didn't get much in return. I'm just glad Fister is in the national league because he usually gives the rangers fits.
They got $7 million in payroll relief from the move as well. From what I read the Tigers didn't get much in return. I'm just glad Fister is in the national league because he usually gives the rangers fits.
He'll be a good late inning defensive replacement for Loboton. Don't hate on teams that can see the big picture. The Rays are trading for a catcher that hit .198 last season so I guess that means they have their cleanup hitter now.
~outta here~
I wanted him on the Rangers if nothing more for his name. From what I read the Tigers didn't get much in return. I'm just glad Fister is in the national league because he usually gives the rangers fits.
Heath Bell part of that big picture? I know they got one really good year out of Fernando Rodney but fat ass Heath Bell and his pitiful velocity is going to be an even bigger challenge as a reclamation project. He'll be a good late inning defensive replacement for Loboton. Reclamation projects are the Rays middle name. Rodney, Farnesworth was a good closer for one year, Percival revived his career for a season. Besides, I think Juan Carlos Oviedo is going to end up as closer. The Rays love good relievers with great changeups.Heath Bell part of that big picture? 3 years @ 10.75 million for a back up catcher? Sounds like starter money to me.He'll be a good late inning defensive replacement for Loboton. Don't hate on teams that can see the big picture.

Yeah. That's probably the Mariners. Now Beltran has a 3 year deal for 48 million out there. Yanks need to move on from that one, too.
I thought I saw it was the Royals. Finish where he started.Yeah. That's probably the Mariners.
Mariners have jumped in late but also saw the royals early.I thought I saw it was the Royals. Finish where he started.
8:00pm: The deal includes an eighth-year option that could boost the total value to $169MM, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com (on Twitter).Too many years and too much money for my liking, plus he seems to be always hurt. But I'll take him. Does he play CF? Do Yanks trade Gardner? Does Ellsbury play LF and Gardner CF?
