Their starting pitching is good enough but not what I'd call strong. They won 2 games with Pfaadt who looks 12 and had a 5 ERA in the regular season. They won a third game with an entirely bullpen game.

We got to their top 2 pitchers for the most part. Their top 2 are good but not lights out or anything.

The Union also lost in the MLS finals last year in overtime. It's only soccer but might as well throw that in too.

Texas lost 102 games in 2021, including stretches going 3-19 and 9-32. Arizona accumulated 110 losses, with a horrid 5-40 stretch.

I know Texas went on a spending spree last year, but that's quite an improvement. Even more impressive when you consider they lost deGrom in May.

That's why I couldn't believe they were actually this good when they got off to that hot start.

They went on a spending spree for the past two years. Don't forget Simien and Seager the year before. Have to give it to Chris Young. How he convinced those players to come to a 100 loss team is beyond me. Also co owner Ray Davis as well. He basically gave the ok to spend all that money and get the payroll back up. They went from a payroll of 32 million to over 200 I. The last two seasons.
