I have Fubo and thankfully they have Ballys SW so I get to see the Rangers this year.

I was thinking of switching to Fubo since YouTube dropped the MLB Network but then I saw that Fubo doesn't have TNT or TBS.

Rule changes lead to jaw-dropping Opening Day stolen base stat not seen since 1907

MLB made a good deal of rule changes between the 2022 and 2023 season, and it led to a surge in stolen bases on Opening Day on Thursday.

Stolen base attempts per game more than doubled from last year’s Opening Day, indicating that the efforts to increase the running game in the MLB may be working. Runners were 21 for 23 on steal attempts on Thursday, compared to five of nine in seven games on the first day of 2022’s season, per Jay Cohen of Associated Press.

“There were 21 stolen bases on Thursday, the most on an Opening Day since 1907,” wrote ESPN’s Jesse Rogers. “Success rate was 91.3% (21 for 23).”

Last season’s success rate was 75 percent on Opening Day, and there was only one day all of last season when the league had 20-plus steals with a success rate better than 90 percent, per Cohen. That was when runners were 22 of 24 on July 26, 2022.

We talked a lot about the pitch clock, but the larger bases to me is a much bigger deal. Baseball loves its records, and this is going to make it so much easier to steal now.

I'd miss those channels for basketball reasons.

We're only 2 days into the season but I saw that the new rules have led to a lot more steals already.

Baseball is finally starting to look like baseball again.

It's just so damn stupid. We are averaging 25 minutes less game time, but from what I have seem the games seem just about as long as before. They just filled the extra space with advertising.

What I saw on the Rangers game wasn't more advertising. The same commercial breaks as normal. There was more time after the game for the announcers to break down the game but the game is over and don't have to watch that. That was were the advertising is.
