Damn, the Mets aren't messing around. They steal Carlos Correa from the Giants.

Jeez. I wonder what turned up in that physical. Mets obviously don't give a shit.

Apparently it was a pre-MLB injury that has not cropped up again. People who cover the Giants on Twitter are saying it sounds like ownership got cold feet.

It's really going to be wild when the Mets go after Shohei Otani next year to be the year-away replacement for Verlander and/or Scherzer.

Dan Patrick and others have been floating the idea that Ohtani could command $60+ million per season since you're essentially getting two players in one with him. A Cy Young caliber pitching ace and an All-Star outfielder.

It sounded crazy at first, but the more I thought about it, it makes sense.

It makes sense... except if he gets hurt you're losing two players at once.

I'd rather have two 30 million dollar players than one 60 million dollar player for that reason, even if you normally get essentially the same production.

Now the Mets are souring on Correa. This guy might never find a home.

I'm sure there are plenty of teams who will give him a contract, the problem is he wants a mega deal in both pay and length but it's looking like he's going to have to reconsider his demands if he wants to get on with a good team and make some money now.

Texas signed another starting pitcher, a guy that was in the running for the CY Young award in 2021.
They now have like 9-10 viable starting pitchers when you count returning guys.
Probably converting at least two into full time relievers.
Nice to finally have a front office willing to spend like a crazy person in FA.

I think I was told the Rangers spent like $20 million on their payroll just a few years ago. They spent a little more than that this year. I think JD was the problem.

He was too conservative and never really spent on high quality starting pitching.

He has the injury label so I will hold my enthusiasm for a bit.

Guess the same could be said of deGrom so I'm kind of worried right now.

Minor league baseball teams have the funnest names.

From Trash Pandas to Rumble Ponies.

Sometimes it feels like they're trying to one up each other.
