Pretty fascinating to read, although it's impossible to know who exactly is telling the truth about certain pieces, i.e. did Parsons really go back to Stephen to try to bump up the 40.5 number right after talking to Jerry or is that Jerry trying to make Michah look bad?![]()
Inside the Micah Parsons trade: How things fell apart in Dallas, and why Green Bay moved quickly
Micah Parsons wanted to be a Dallas Cowboy "for life." The disputed nature of a March meeting with Jerry Jones helped chart a course for his exit.www.espn.com
At the end of the day we know Parsons had an offer around 40.5 on the table back in March that could've been wrapped up in a formal deal relatively easily. That number wasn't surpassed until Watt's deal 4 months later.
We also know Parsons said several times how he didn't have to be the highest paid and was happy to stay in Dallas even if he's a bit under the highest paid at the position.
That was obviously bullshit.
It also seems obvious that Micah and the agent tried to go back to the Cowboys a few days before the trade to jump start talks, and the team was ready to clean their hands of him, so the issues with him are real to some extent and not just some media-contrived cover story.
