Jerry has aged tremendously in his face the last 3-4 years. Hopefully we are close to seeing him being 100% out of the picture permanently.
You guys dont see it? Old Jerry is making some sense and holding off Rosies dumbass for as long as he is able. It is going to be way worse when Rosie takes full control so im not sure we should be hoping for Jerrys demise just yet.

Hate it. OL is a huge job, the most complex and important of the position coaches, and I don't like rookies there.

When I think of TE coaches promoted to OL, I think of Frank Verducci. In fact, this whole thing reminds me of 2002.

That's my biggest fear, that he would be a first time OL coach. To be fair though, he played on the OL as a player and was an assistant OL coach with the Giants before moving to TE coach. So he's at least not completely unfamiliar.

I get your point, but Verducci coached OL at Iowa for a long time before coming to NFL.

Wells played OL and assisted other places.

For anyone who thinks they hired Schottenheimer because Moore turned them down or they couldn't agree on terms or anything similar, that doesn't appear to be the case.

I mean I will say, BS is probably a better leader and communicator than Moore. Moore's personality is his biggest problem.

That's honestly the sense that I get also. I preferred none of the above, but Moore specifically was low on my list.

Some people have pointed out that Moore has been getting other interviews and BS has not, but I did notice that Moore has not been hired by anyone else. Moore has the numbers as OC but the interviews might have not been particularly persuasive.

Understood, but to me, OL coach is different. Let the young unproven guys coach DBs or WRs or LBs -- that's fine. But OL coach is such a complex job with the sheer number of players and all the moving parts and the coordination needed, I wouldn't hire anyone but a proven vet there. The potential for disaster there is just too high.

If we had hired someone like Carroll, or even just kept McCarthy, while having Schottenheimer as OC and Eberflus as DC I'd be somewhat optimistic about winning 10-12 games next year.

But Schottenheimer as HC...
