Who knows if there's any truth to this. Does his "hearing" mean anything? Not sure how much he really knows, I thought Belt was their "insider."

I'll say this though, sharrif has been talking about the Schottenheimer possibility for days now, before most people were bringing it up.

He might have some info.

Goof Schot is the absolute worst case scenario. Career failed O coordinator only hired because he's cheap, willing to take on any assistant the inbreds tell him to, and I'm guessing, they see some continuity with him after Fat Mike.

Nobody was overly worried about Payton leaving but I can tell you I had Campbell at the top of my list a few years ago.

I thought the McCarthy hiring was fine too, but hey.

At any rate, there are so many factors at play that determine whether a HC works out or not. Johnson might be an absolute genius and leader of men, but what if Williams tears his ACL next year or just actually sucks?

What if any other assortment of random things happen to torpedo his tenure there that's outside of his control?
Yep, that's just it. Very hard to know if any head coach will succeed. Campbell is doing a hell of a job, but he has great coordinators and a great GM. You need all of that. We're screwed on the GM part.

I'm leaning towards a CEO type coach like Campbell. Don't want him calling plays. Have a personality, be a leader and get 2 kick ass coordinators in here. Who that is? I have no clue. I'm sure Moore and Schotty would want to call plays. And does it even matter? It's parts of the same offense we've had for years. I guarantee they're leaning that way vs having Dak learn a whole new offense.

Even for Jerry that might be an all time bad head coaching hire. I'm honestly not sure I could find one that has a worse resume than that dude.

Didn't someone post his past offensive rankings? I don't feel like going back and looking but it seems like his offenses never finished better than the 20's. I don't understand how he keeps getting hired. At least his old man had a good winning percentage.

Reminds me of the turd D-coordinator Mike Nolan. The guy had a history of being a terrible defensive coordinator. The best thing going for him was that his dad was Dick Nolan.

This is like hiring Dave Campo all over again.

But shit.... At least Campo had a decent rep as a defensive coach.

But as far as picking a guy that NO ONE else would have considered giving the job to? This is just like the Campo hire.

A spineless yes man that was already on the staff so it creates the least amount of inconvenience in the search and hiring process.

Yea, at least on paper Moore makes sense.

Several top ranked offenses, the OC of the team likely going to the SB this year, so on and so forth.

We know the truth but on paper Moore is the type of candidate hired every year.

Schottenheimer is...not that.

I'd rather name Dak Prescott OC. I do not like Schottenheimer as an OC. Don't like him as a QB coach. I don't care for him much at all frankly.
Dak has sucked ass even worse under Schottenheimer. I think bringing in a proven OC and giving Dak one last shot to turn it around would be what a normal organization would do.
But we are talking the Inbred Hillbillies after all.
