Scott Linehan’s kids. Matt is OC/QB coach at University of Idaho. Mike is DL coach Univ Montana. Marcus Track & Field Univ of Massachusetts. Hell, Scotty2Hotty himself is 61 and might be raring for one last glorious NFL ride

I post this sarcastically, but, you know…

I think they're throwing Schottenheimer a bone to try to keep him as OC, if he's the actual HC hire I think I'm actually out for a bit.

I wondered that too... but supposedly Kellen was mad when he left -- Bobby Belt claims he wasn't even pushed out, he left on his own :rolleyes -- so I wonder if he'd allow his replacement to work for him. I guess maybe if he's desperate enough.

It could just be all about whoever will accept Witten on staff.

I know it won't happen, but how amazing would it be if all of these candidates shot it down and emphasized that they needed to be able to pick their own staff?

I don't think we'd ever know if that happened, Jerry will just find a stooge and lie his ass off about how they were their top choice.

We all know this is all about Prescott.

He ain’t doing shit outside of his comfort zone and Jones will oblige.

Honestly, making him uncomfortable would be the best thing for him. He needs to be challenged.

That's difficult to swallow. Even if it's true that Moore was mad on the way out, Belt seems to put it on McCarthy rather than Jerry where blame should belong.

I'm really hoping that angle is way overblown. I mean, yes, Jerry is crazy, but I'm not sure he's that crazy yet. Even if he would like Witten to be coach someday, hopefully he's not insisting on the HCIW thing right now.

I almost feel like they are bringing up an awful option to make us feel better about Witten.

Hell I was just about to respond to your post, "If that's what they are doing than just make Witten the head coach and be done with it"

But I also feel like that's what Jerry wants me to say. Give us a really awful option that basically has us begging for a less awful option.

Maybe, but it also might be true.

In retrospect I found myself wishing they had just hired Garrett instead of Wade in 2007 because we'd have presumably put the Garrett era in the rear view sooner.

It might be best to get it out of the way now if they are insistent on doing it come hell or high water eventually anyway.

It is probably true although for Witten's sake I think the guy could be a good coach some day but dude needs more experience and on the job training before he is ready for an NFL coaching spot. He's have to nail the assistants to have a chance at success in my opinion.

In the long run, we're all dead. :sad
