I don't really care about keeping Harris one way or the other. It'd be nice to keep him as DB coach but I always thought he was a bit overrated because he had a recognizable name.

I certainly wouldn't want him as DC over a guy like Frazier, Allen, Zimmer or even Eberflus.

I dont think he is overrated. Our secondary has been pretty good with the exception of this year since he has been here. As well as developing the ability to go after the ball.

With that being said I want him to stay but I want that decision to be the new HC.

I only mean overrated in the sense that some fans think we should elevate him to DC just to keep him. He's a good DB coach but I wouldn't want him as our DC with the other options that are available.

Yeah I mean probably best to get a guy who specializes in what our scheme will be. I really like Harris. I think he was a perfect fit for Quinn and his system. But if we aren't running a similar scheme I don't see anything special.

And right now we have no idea what type of defense we will have. Hell we don't know what type of offense either. Can't really retain any of these assistants until we make a decision on a head coach. So basically if any of them have a chance somewhere else they are gone.

Race-baiter Florio publicly fretting that last night's disaster might cost Glenn a job :picard
Detroit literally had half their staring lineup out, and then lost arguably their best remaining CB on the first drive of the game, which forced some guy named Vildor to play who has barely played all year.

It was a bad performance, sure, but they were pretty horrific down the stretch outside of the Vikings game and it was largely due to injuries. They were one of the better defenses in the league over the first 8-10 games of the year.

Truth is we have no idea what type of DC he would be. Calling a scheme is totally different then coaching up the DBs. But that's sort of the things with coaches. You just don't know because as fans we aren't interviewing these guys.

I would be surprised if he couldn't be a Glenn level DC though...

We had the same or worse all year long. And Zimmer did better against the Skins. I'm not giving the guy a pass. He just doesn't have anything special to him.

I don't think the two situations are comparable if you're talking about the first Skins game. We actually had some of our injured guys back by that game and were only missing Lawrence, Williams and I think maybe Kneeland.

The Detroit lineup last night was closer to what you saw against like the 49ers when Parsons and Bland were missing on top of the guys I already mentioned.

Detroit was missing 3 starters on the DL, a starting LB and two starting CB's last night, and maybe even another that I'm missing off the top of my head.

They were without 10 of the 22 players on their 2 deep depth chart including 3 of the 4 starting DL and starting 2 DBs in last nights game. Probably had more out as I think they gained a player or two. I dont fully remember when our players were there or werent but I think they had more to deal with.

It was as close as you can get to a lineup of backups on a playoff team. I can't really think of many similar scenarios where a playoff team was missing more than half of their starting lineup on one side of the ball.

So, Jerry should force Harris on to whoever the next HC is?

I get so confused.
He is going to force at least Witten. Might as well keep on meddling in a constructive way.

Funny how it can be rationalized if it's a coach we like. But by God, if it's for somebody we don't want it's the worst thing ever.

What a dog shit list.

How in the world is this the best list that the most prestigious sports team in America could put together?
Exactly. They are still the most prestigious team in the league.

They should spare no expense and go out and get the best coach on the market.

Mike McCarthy.
