I don't know that I get it. What's so great about Aaron Glenn? The Lions defense have never really impressed me.

They had one of the better defenses in the league before all the injuries, and even with the injuries they're statistically top 10 and then they obviously had a signature performance against the Vikings.

More broadly most of the Lions talent and resources have been spent on the offensive side of the ball with Gibbs, LaPorta, Williams, Sewell and Ragnow all being first rounders, plus inheriting St. Brown who is a top 5ish WR in the laegue. They have a few 1st round picks on defense with Hutchinson and Campbell but Glenn has taken mostly 2nd/3rd round types and turned them into key players like McNeill, Anzalone and Joseph.

Throw in the culture they established in Detroit, that he'd presumably bring an OC from that staff, and that he also cut his teeth under Payton and I think there's a lot to like there.

If you're going the coordinator route he'd be my guy honestly.
