Outside of franchise valuation, this franchise has very little to hang its hat on any longer. When we were kids the mantra was, "The Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl since 1978". Three decades later the 90's success is the punch line.

When it's all said and done none of this means a damn thing and it's just a diversion. But we've all invested the time for whatever reason and it'd be nice to see a serious effort made. I understand protecting the bottom line but what I'll never understand is refusing to invest in the product on the field. It's never made sense and it never will...but it sure as hell is going to continue on like this and we all know it.
