I think it's pretty obvious Garrett is gone unless he's in the super bowl. And the best possible outcome as a fan is we wake up this season and win the super bowl. That's not going to happen, we all know that, but that won't keep me from rooting for it. Anything short of that and I'm certain Garrett is gone.
See, I think this totally false.
Who in their right mind thinks that Garrett would not be extended if he got the Cowboys to their first NFCC since January of 1996?
You think Jerry isn't going to consider that good enough? A man who has employed the likes of Barry Switzer, Chan Gailey, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips, and allowed Jason Garrett to be the coach for almost 10 years despite never putting together consecutive winnings seasons?
That guy is going to thumb his nose at his golden boy getting him to an NFCC?
There isn't a chance in hell that he wouldn't rush to put a new contract on the table if he got that far. Hell, I think if he gets just one singular win in the playoffs it would greatly increase the chances that he extends him.
Again, I think you are underestimating just how badly Jerry does not want to let this guy go.
