McDaniels has done more with less in New England, I’ve never seen anything like it.
I just don’t know what’s up with that offense this year. Is it Father Time breaking Brady down, or what?

I don’t think McDaniels would ever coach in Dallas. Belichick would tell him it’s a mistake. Like Troy said, there has to be one consistent voice in the building, and that ain’t the case in Dallas.

Besides, Belichick is probably going to hang em up in a few years, that’s McDaniels’ job when that time comes.

Making the playoffs is always fun but once you take the emotion out it's hard to argue it's best for the long-term future of the team.

It'd be one thing if we were at all competitive, or if we were talking 3 slots in the draft order. If we lose to the Rams we could very easily be talking 10 or more slots and a possible top 10 pick.

If we beat the Rams it kind of takes that off the table though.

I'm fully on the Matt Rhule bandwagon. Has college and pro coaching experience. Does more with less. Almost beat Oklahoma with a 3rd string QB.

Watched him interact with players and coaches. What a novel concept.

He is already on the NFL radar so I'm sure we will see his name more in the coming months.

Would you really want the NE job though? Who the hell wants to follow Belichick?

no one can follow up on Belichick's act so the bar is impossible to reach for anyone

How so? He failed as a head coach last time. The only thing he has done is rode the coat tails of Brady. And work under an all time great head coach.
Aside from Brady, you just described Belichick before he went to the Patriots. Hell, he even shit on the Jets just like McDaniels did to the Colts.

Eh...at least Belichick got the Browns to an 11-5 record and a playoff victory. And very forgettable seasons too.

But to your point, Belichick has been as lucky as he has been good. Anyone bored enough to read about his QB decisions (Eric Zeier anyone?) can draw some interesting insight. And hey, the guy has had arguably the best QB to ever strap on a helmet riding with him since 2001. For all his "greatness" you can't ignore that elephant in the room.

I have to give Belichick a pass for that last year in Cleveland, they weren't doing great but were middle of the pack at 4-4 and Modell told everyone he was moving the team.

He won with Matt Cassel and made people believe he was a starting qb

If every assisstant that has worked for Belichick hasn't fallen on their face I might see your point. But Pats assistants haven't done anything away from that team.

Oh, absolutley...but again...he's had Brady for a LONG time. Can you imagine Dak with the current Patriots? LOL. Even at 42 Brady is carrying that team along right now.

Belichick would have Dak in the running with Lamar as mvp

I meant with Garrett coaching.

Or even better...give Brady Cooper, Zeke and Gallup.

I wasn't talking about any other coach. Only the similarities to the starts to both Belichick and McDaniels HCing careers.

I understand some reservations with Meyers. He has left two successful jobs due to stated health (or domestic) reasons. The Dallas job would be just as stressful and then the program is high and dry.

Yeah I mean I confess I don't know the guy personally and maybe he really has what it takes to be an elite coach. His resume doesn't look impressive to me at all. But it's possible he has greatness in him and just needs a better opportunity. I've said it before but that's why there is more to a coach then just the performance of his side of the ball.

College recruiting can be extremely stressful. The NFL doesn't require the same year round committment.

I would think that the long hours a coach has to be away from home during the regular season for game preparations etc. would be more stressful to the domestic part of a coaches life.
