What?indeed.
What?indeed.
Actually it is not a good point at all. You think P Manning is close to management? Yup. Rogers? Yup. Romo? Yup. Are they in danger of being called an uncle Tom? Nope.Good point.
They might not be called Uncle Tom, but there are other words that are used like brown noser and ass kisser, so no its not a unique problem its just acted on in different ways.Actually it is not a good point at all. The highlighted point had to do with the unique problem that blacks have. Or at least it seems that way to me.
As an aside, one thing I never could understand is jealousy when it comes to employees. Some people spend too much time focusing on what others get that they don't. When I worked in a corporate environment I did all that I could to work hard for my boss, be part of the team and generally increase productivity. I figured since they provided a pay check for me I should give them all that I had. You had a small group of crybabies (that never got promoted) crying about that. For some crazy reason they promoted me and paid me more. Huh, what do you know...
So P Manning or any other white QB has a problem with white folks when they work closely with management? Have you ever heard that? They might not be called Uncle Tom, but there are other words that are used like brown noser and ass kisser, so no its not a unique problem its just acted on in different ways.
The only thing unique is the word Uncle Tom the particular actions and responses are not.
BTW, are you disagreeing with black people who say that you get flack from the thugs when you act like a regular citizen? That doesn't seem like an imagined problem to me.They might not be called Uncle Tom, but there are other words that are used like brown noser and ass kisser, so no its not a unique problem its just acted on in different ways.

I just posted that I agreed with Barkley and that I have experienced the same issues did you totally miss that?BTW, are you disagreeing with black people who say that you get flack from the thugs when you act like a regular citizen? That doesn't seem like an imagined problem to me.
Of course I'm only 1/94th black so I don't know.
Good point..................I think.Romo takes quite a bit of criticism for being too close to his coach and owner...weird how that has been forgotten.
It hasn't been forgotten. I thought of that and considered commenting about that when I typed the post.Romo takes quite a bit of criticism for being too close to his coach and owner...weird how that has been forgotten.
Usually the ones throwing around ass-kisser and brown-noser are the ones whose work ethic isn't up to par, and people keep getting promoted/advanced faster than them so they have to throw out insults to make themselves feel better about themselves. They might not be called Uncle Tom, but there are other words that are used like brown noser and ass kisser, so no its not a unique problem its just acted on in different ways.

Though, sometimes people do benefit from that kind of personal favoritism when they are clearly not good at their jobs. Jason Garrett's is a good example. People criticize Jerry for promoting a guy he likes (twice) when he hadn't accomplished anything to show he was qualified for the job then refused to fire him when he repeatedly fucked up and lost games due to boneheaded decisions and it isn't to make themselves feel better.Usually the ones throwing around ass-kisser and brown-noser are the ones whose work ethic isn't up to par, and people keep getting promoted/advanced faster than them so they have to throw out insults to make themselves feel better about themselves.
I wasn't really talking about the Cowboys current structure so much as speaking to the general state of the business environment in most places. Most people that hate on fellow employees that advance are pissed because their lackadaisical style isn't cutting it, so they lash out at the ones that are getting things done and moving up.Though, sometimes people do benefit from that kind of personal favoritism when they are clearly not good at their jobs. subtle, but different, are the grandstanders. some call it 'personal PR', but some flaunt their achievements better than others and get more credit/reputationUsually the ones throwing around ass-kisser and brown-noser are the ones whose work ethic isn't up to par, and people keep getting promoted/advanced faster than them so they have to throw out insults to make themselves feel better about themselves.
And, then, some just perform better than others and deserve their recognition.subtle, but different, are the grandstanders. some call it 'personal PR', but some flaunt their achievements better than others and get more credit/reputation
I like big noses. Is this what I am now known for.I dunno that Jew nose really throws me off sometimes. [/Carl]
Sure. People who succeed based on merits will be accused unfairly of succeeding on personal politics and favors, some women who succeed through hard work will be accused of sleeping their way to the top. That doesn't mean people don't succeed due to politics and favors or sleep their way to the top. The NFL is a perfect example of that, where we can all see the connections and good old boy hookups happening. Every industry and government agency (especially in the government) has it happening all the time. The ones who move up due to their hard work and competence just have to carry the load for all the brother in laws and mistresses. And, then, some just perform better than others and deserve their recognition.
Yep, this is far too common.Sure. Absolutely. Many are insecure about where they are in a company or business and constantly have to remind management just how valuable they are by reeling off a list of accomplishments. I have much more respect for people who don't self promote and just do their job. Way too many need to be patted on the head and given a scooby snack.subtle, but different, are the grandstanders. some call it 'personal PR', but some flaunt their achievements better than others and get more credit/reputation
Yeah, no doubt. If you're doing your job the recognition and promotions will come. No need to spout off about them at every turn. Some people, I guess, just crave that scoobie snack far too much.Absolutely.
