So, we are going backwards? From digital ballots to paper? That's retarded.
I feel like Pennsylvania went backwards this year.
For a long time we had machines. You walked into a booth and a curtain closes you in so it's
private. You press the buttons for your candidates, press the vote button, and your done. It was electronic and modern.
This year, they changed my voting location. It was a school gym. There were 4 sided islands in the middle of the gym that you take your
paper ballot to. There's a small divider and no curtain. Not at all private. Completely out in the open. Then you filled in your candidates with pen on your paper ballot. Then walked your ballot, even more out in the open, to one of 3 scanners along the side. Feed your ballot into the scanner still out in the open. I never saw anything like it, it was completely insecure and about 90% public. It felt anachronistic and like we regressed. Why the hell would we go back to paper ballots?
And that's not to mention the workers said to me that the scanner I used wasn't working previously, and I would be the "guinea pig" to see if it worked.
Just a shit show.
