PropsWe lose on a controversial call.....
PropsWe lose on a controversial call.....
That would be number 1.
#2 Inability to recover fumble on kickoff
#3 Shotgun pass on third and short
#4 Idiotic adherence to empty set passing. Especially on second and long. I'm not talking second and 20, I'm talking 2nd and 8 which we were in a lot, and here comes the no RB sets. Seriously, do we even have five guys who are threats to make a play in the passing game out of empty set?
1 Bryant
2 Witten
3 Williams
4 Beasley
Who else?
Surely not Escobust, Street, Hanna or Harris.
So if you must throw a fuck ton of receivers out there, the best set would be 4 wide with Bryant, Williams, Beasley, and Witten with fumbling fuck in the backfield.
I knew the game was over when Romo took the sack for a 3 yard loss when he was flushed out of the pocket.Yep. The fumble, the three successive decisions at the end of the half, the non-recovery on the kickoff, and obviously The Call.
A bunch of huge plays.
Not hindsight for me. I was calling for a punt as soon as the false start happened.I honestly think that's more of a hindsight criticism. If Baily make the kick (which he does at least 8 times out of ten), it's not even brought up whether or not it's the right call.
And that was a forgotten big play too. Big fuckup by Romo. Throw it away.I knew the game was over when Romo took the sack for a 3 yard loss when he was flushed out of the pocket.
These are also my top 3 key reasons why they lost. That would be number 1.

I brought this up in the obituary thread.#4 Idiotic adherence to empty set passing. Especially on second and long. I'm not talking second and 20, I'm talking 2nd and 8 which we were in a lot, and here comes the no RB sets. Seriously, do we even have five guys who are threats to make a play in the passing game out of empty set?
There is absolutely no excuse for taking a sack that far out of the pocket. And that was a forgotten big play too. Big fuckup by Romo. Throw it away.
Otherwise the next play to Beasley is a 1st down and the play to dez either doesn't happen or the blown call isn't a big deal.
Thanks Romo!
Academic. 6 more points would still have won thegame.IIRC, the Packers took the ball down the field and scored after the Murray fumble. That's a potential 14 point swing if you consider that we had momentum and most likely would have scored had he not fumbled.
The missed FGs was a six point swing considering that Green Bay took over on downs and scored a FG.
We can beat that team with a good defense.I really don't have much hope for a championship in the future.
Not with QBs like Aaron Rodgers blocking our path. He's better on one leg than a healthy Romo.
I guess we can hope for injuries.
It will take a lot of improvements on defense to beat a healthy Aaron Rodgers in a playoff setting. We can beat that team with a good defense.
Hell, if we had just a slightly better defense, we win that game yesterday even with all the failed opportunities and blunders. They aren't that much better than us and there's no reason to think we can't make another run next year if both Romo plays well and this defense plugs some holes.
Not as many as you'd think. It will take a lot of improvements on defense to beat a healthy Aaron Rodgers in a playoff setting.
I agree.Not as many as you'd think.
3 players would make a world of difference. That's not asking too much.
I have hope for D-Law next season. I gave him the benefit of the doubt coming off a fractured foot.I agree.
If (and its a big if) we can get a healthy Sean Lee on the field along with a decent edge rusher and a cover safety, I'd love our shot at beating the Packers with a healthy Rodgers.
OK, change the fumble. We can beat the Packers right now, as is. We showed that yesterday.
Change one play - the murray fumble - and that's our game.
I didn't see him particularly effected by the injury. Bothered by it? Sure. Not effected by it.OK, change the fumble.
Green Bay gets a change too. Aaron Rodgers is completely healthy.
We get our fucking doors blown off.
I was not all that enthused for the 45 yarder. I felt like Bailey was shaky down the stretch for whatever reason. Not hindsight for me. I was calling for a punt as soon as the false start happened.
From 45, the FG is the right call. From 50? In that situation? Bad idea.
