It was. Back in the day, our team Dr told guys to eat 2 Big Macs a day to put on weight before upcoming football season. I remember they had salt and pepper shakers on the table and I’d order 2 with fries (another killer item that’s gone to shit) salt/pepper the Big Macs and they actually were damn good. The Pattie’s were fried back then.
Today, their beef is practically not beef and to top it off the patties are boiled instead of fried. Just a fucking joke of a sandwich.

My kid works at McDonalds. They still put their burgers on a grill to cook them. And the burgers are beef.

No idea. My buddy owns 7 franchises here in S.C. Told me they cook the burgers in a special double sided grill which basically boils the meat, from there they go to holding containers and then they are slapped on a grill for 1-2 minutes to brown them up before serving to a customer. Same with the eggs and shit like that.
Yes the burgers are “beef” but it’s a much leaner cut of beef (thanks fat police) then what they used years ago and unfortunately one of the negatives of that change is way less taste.
