I never learned to drive a clutch. I guess I'm a disgrace to GenX.
You haven’t driven a muscle car until you driven one with a clutch. There’s nothing like dumping the clutch on a 450 hp beast and watching smoke (and your beer) spill out all over the place.

Oh trust me, I’ve done that more times than I’d ever admit. It took awhile to figure out I had to spend money OTHER places on the car to have a car that worked normally.

There’s enough old fuckers here to remember shop class, auto body class, and general car repair classes in high school. I got lucky and had a really cool teacher in auto maintenance class who was a retired race car guy…he even had a dyno brought in to show us how it worked-there was never really any “maintenance and repair” bs type shit going on….it was always about camshafts, engine blocks, air, fuel and how to make hp. I learned some really cool shit in there
and built my first 454 Chevy motor with him helping navigate the finer parts of everything. It made 458 hp which was pretty impressive back in the day with simple headers and a 4 bbl carb.
I recently built a LS2 motor using the factory GM PCM, headers and aluminum Trick Flow heads and a custom cam and stuck it in my 1967 C10. It makes around 600 hp but you can drive it to Boozes house and it’s as docile as his Corolla until you really step on the gas. Then it will smoke the tires until you are down to the rim if you aren’t careful.
