Eh. You’re already predisposed to hating this trade, so understandable.Considering how those guys were so successful after they left...![]()
I mean odds aren't that you will have 100% boy scouts. But what you want are enough of those guys to keep the others in line. Hopefully we have that now.I assume that this puts an end to the legitimacy of any "we only are interested in RKGs" nonsense.
I mean, they'll still say it, but this is the receipt.
If we're gonna take that gamble, I'd only wanna do it with a WR or badass DLineman.I assume that this puts an end to the legitimacy of any "we only are interested in RKGs" nonsense.

I'd be pretty shocked given that they have two passable vets and spent two picks on the position. Maybe they'd do a minor trade for a low-level guy to throw in the mix but I'd be shocked if it was something of a similar magnitude to the Pickens trade. You know, Jerry said one or TWO trades.
I wonder if they might have something cooking for a RB.
Booker seems like a lover, not a fighter.Well, Bookers elite leadership will be tested.
You greedy ass motherfucker. You know, Jerry said one or TWO trades.

Eh. Hate is a strong word. If he works out, and we resign him it's a steal. He's 24 and vastly better than a WR we could get in the 3rd next year. If he doesn't and we let him go, I have little doubt they get at least a 4th round comp back in return. Not a huge price to pay to take a swing at a possibly good/great player.
Other teams take these chances and receive praise around here for having the guts. Having the foresight to do these trades. We do them, and they instantly get shit on. Look no further than last year at this time. There was wailing and gnashing of teeth because the team didn't do anything to try and improve. Now that they DO? More wailing and gnashing of teeth.
It's going to be fascinating to see how the contract situation plays out next offseason, or potentially even during the season.
Hence the rental aspect.
I can see it now, we are giving these fans their “All In”.

It's very hard for me to see them paying him ~25/year and I can't imagine them prioritizing him over someone like Bland, but I guess you never know if Pickens goes nuts and/or Bland kind of disappoints and Diggs/Revel play well.
I just wonder if a guy like Pickens believes CeeDee is more talented than he is. He may not.
Yep, the Steelers should want to get a pick if they aren't resigning him.
Parsons is a thing unto himself, we know that deal will be done in the next 2 months or so.
Michael Carter or Omarion HamptonYou greedy ass motherfucker.
I mean, it depends on what they gave up, but… even if the idea is that they give up a fourth and sixth now and then get a third or fourth as a compensatory pick when he leaves (albeit a year delayed) that’s a pretty cheap price to pay for a rental.
They are desperate and they put themselves into this situation. And they clearly aren’t ever willing to punt on a year to put themselves into a better future position. They’ve hitched themselves to Dak and can’t or won’t get out of that bad relationship.
This is, talent wise, probably the best they could have done all offseason. Certainly a better player than signing aging Cooper Kupp. This is a 24 year old who has put up a 1000 yard season and is probably a very good #2, though not as good as the Lamb-Amari Cooper pairing, but still pretty solid.
The question is if his head is on straight. The other question is, given that he’s almost certainly just a rental, is he able to fit in well enough during his one season here?
There is absolutely no chance he only puts up 40/500 barring significant injuries. For a team that doesn't do anything of significance in FA, I would think they would value their picks a little more. We're not going to get a 3rd or a 4th compensatory pick for him when he leaves. He's probably going to have about 40 receptions for 500 yards. He'll leave and we'll get a 6th.
