On pure talent alone Lamb/Pickens is up there with the elite duos in the league.
Probably behind Chase/Higgins, but on par with Jefferson/Addison, Brown/Smith and Hill/Waddle, so from that perspective I get the gamble.
My only issue is that they continuously end up overpaying by about a round in these deals and don't seem to be able to properly calibrate on how to value guys (i.e. the Mingo trade) relative to picks. The fact that we'll likely at least get a 4 back in 2027 helps, but it just feels like they're twisting in the wind trying to find a solution to a problem that shouldn't be that difficult to solve.
At any rate, it'll be interesting to see how they approach re-signing him, if at all. They won't admit it but we should be able to tell by their actions over the next 8-10 months whether they consciously made the deal as a pure rental or if they're actually considering extending him.
I'm sure a lot of it will hinge on his behavior but between Parsons, Bland and Tyler Smith coming up it's hard to see them handing out 20-25/year for their WR2.
If they really are considering re-signing him it'd be smart to do it now with a full year left on his rookie deal, but we know damn good and well that's not how this team rolls, and ultimately it'd be a pretty big risk given his antics unless he took a discount (which he won't).
