Report: Browns, McDaniels staying in touch
McDaniels could still be considering Browns' job
Aaron Wilson
New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is still talking with the Cleveland Browns about their head coaching vacancy, according to ESPN Cleveland.
McDaniels has said he plans to remain with the Patriots.
Per the report, McDaniels and the Browns have had more discussions and he's "possibly back in the mox" for the job.
The Browns have also been talking with former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano and Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine.
---------------------
This would be the best thing to happen to the Browns even though McDaniels is far from an ideal candidate.
At least now they can say he is the guy they wanted all along.
McDaniels might be reconsidering since a bunch of Patriot coaches have either retired (including great OL coach Dante Scarnecchia), quit (LB coach Pepper Johnson) or taken a job with the Texans (TE coach George Godsey).
