Yep and Petersen got about 10 as a practical matter.Hardy essientially got 19.
I was pretty much neutral until they released the transcript of the appeal. How you can look at everything that has come out since Brady filed suit and not determine that Goodell is just making this up as he goes along is beyond me. It is what he did to the Saints. It is what he did to Dallas and Washington. It is what he did to Ray Rice. I mean, they are trying to punish him under an agreement the players never saw, and they increased the punishment for destroying his phone, but only after Wells said he didn't have to turn it over. I can't say he did or didn't do it, but even if he did the penalty for tampering with equipment is supposed to be a fine. The only reason Goodell is being so harsh is because he got so much media attention. Using punishment as PR been his M.O. as a commissioner since the beginning.I don't understand any of this.
Ray Rice punches a woman unconscious and gets 2 games then an indefinite suspension.
Greg Hardy beats a woman and gets 4 games.
Ray McDonald beats a woman in exactly the same fashion and gets 0 games.
Tom Brady does maybe nothing at all and gets 4 games.
Adrian Peterson whips a child red and welted and gets 0 games.
WTF?
Quality Michigan education there.
Oh, c'mon.
I agree. I'm actually hoping Brady wins this so it'll be another black mark against Goodell.I was pretty much neutral until they released the transcript of the appeal. The problem with your theory is that Kraft is the owner who used to have Goodell in his back pocket. So now I'm to believe that it's all of the rivals of the Patriots pulling the strings. Just doesn't make sense to me. If Goodell was doing this thing on a friendship basis he would have given Kraft a soft pat on the back as punishment.I agree. I'm actually hoping Brady wins this so it'll be another black mark against Goodell.
I kind of agree with what someone said earlier in the week. I don't think this is all on Goodell. A part of me is beginning to think that he's just the puppet being controlled by a few behind the scenes owners who have axes to grind with the Patriots. Namely the Baltimore and Indy owners.
Yeah I don't get why some would let Brady off the hook just to have some sort of satisfaction of seeing Goodell get slapped around. The problem with your theory is that Kraft is the owner who used to have Goodell in his back pocket. I'm also a bit surprised that people are talking as though they still aren't sure if Brady did or didn't do it. Really? That's the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Of course he did it and the Patriots excuses about everything that has happened are ridiculous. If people say he did it but the punishment was too stiff I can at least have a reasonable conversation. If people are going to continue to pretend that we don't know one way or the other then what's the point of the conversation? That part should be plain as day to see.
I dislike Goodell but that has nothing to do with the Brady situation. Brady cheated and he did it repeatedly. A fine isn't going to deter him from cheating in some other capacity in the future, so what do you do?Yeah I don't get why some would let Brady off the hook just to have some sort of satisfaction of seeing Goodell get slapped around.
Put me in the crowd that thinks the punishment is too stiff for the crime. The problem with your theory is that Kraft is the owner who used to have Goodell in his back pocket. Just a what if, but what if the Patriots organization including Brady are guilty of the charge? Is game tampering less of an offense than domestic violence when it comes to punishment?Put me in the crowd that thinks the punishment is too stiff for the crime.
As for the dynamics of the Kraft-Goodell relationship, I get what you're saying but I can also see Goodell throwing Kraft under the bus on this one because regardless of their relationship, you can't appease Kraft 100% of the time when there are 31 other owners whose interest you have to look out for. That's 32 different personalities and egos. Even though some are clearly more influential, as far as I know all of the owners wield the same amount of actual power.
Therefore I don't think it's that far-fetched that someone else could be pushing Goodell hard to come down on the Patriots for this.
This is just me spit-balling, trying to read the tea leaves. It's a dynamic that I think is plausible.
I think it's more of a crime when where it concerns the NFL. I know that player conduct is important to the integrity of the NFL, but when it comes to the sanctity and integrity of the game itself, game tampering is much much worse, IMO.Just a what if, but what if the Patriots organization including Brady are guilty of the charge? Actually the domestic violence issues can be prosecuted by the court system but I think it would be difficult to try to get them to deal with NFL issues unless there was absolutely cut and dried evidence of criminal misconduct. That leaves the gray areas in the hands of the commissioner and the discretion of the league. It appears that the commissioner sees game tampering as a serious activity. I don't know what the evidence is but I am certain that something was presented to.him to shape his thinking.I think it's more of a crime when where it concerns the NFL. I meant crimes "where it concerns the NFL", meaning violations against that entity. Not crime as in legal crime.Actually the domestic violence issues can be prosecuted by the court system but I think it would be difficult to try to get them to deal with NFL issues unless there was absolutely cut and dried evidence of criminal misconduct. I think so.Just a what if, but what if the Patriots organization including Brady are guilty of the charge? Is game tampering less of an offense than domestic violence when it comes to punishment?
I wouldn't even consider this game tampering honestly. I thought Spy Gate was a much more egregious offense.I think it's more of a crime when where it concerns the NFL. This is why I am all about this suspension.I wouldn't even consider this game tampering honestly. I thought Spy Gate was much more egregious.
IMO, this is a misdemeanor that's been trumped up to a felony charge.
I won't shed a tear if the 4 games hold up because the Patriots do like to cross the line.
Dude.. SB rings are FUGLY!!!
