Injuries happen. In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't seem very catastrophic to me. Guyton wasn't great last year and there wasn't much chatter of improvement in camp. Rather it would have been Steele, but whatever.

Agreed, the biggest issue is whether they have the balls to play Smith at LT.

I don't think there's much difference between Guyton at LT and Smith at LG vs. Smith at LT and Richards, Thomas or Bass at LG.

Very likely, but just the fact that he should be healthy enough to suit up for game 1 is a huge plus.

It's nice that he's not out for the year because of the potential he has if he develops, but ultimately I'd still strongly consider moving Tyler to LT since Guyton could easily miss the first 2-3 games of the year, and could be shitty even if he does only miss minimal time.

If whatever combination we end up going with is playing well I'd just roll with it until/unless Guyton is practicing so well that you just can't keep him off the field.

the big opportunity cost is how much Guyton could've improved in camp and preseason.

Correct, exactly my thought. The blow to the season isn't the big issue, it's the big delay to his development time.
