On Simp's post...

The zone coverage is infuriating. I know I'm very down on Diggs, but to me it's just unacceptable. Say it's three deep. You still make the play on the ball as soon as the ball goes up. And it's your job to stay deeper than the deepest man. You don't use zone as an excuse to mentally say that's not my guy and just look over at the safety. This is high school level stuff. It's not that complicated.

I wasn't watching super closely, but I do agree that Steward looked pretty good. At least the effort is there. And I think the effort is actually okay with Elam, he just isn't good. As we said when Buffalo let him go.

Agreed on Murray, too. He'll never be a smart player, he'll always be frustrating at times, but he made quite a few pretty good plays yesterday.

Agree on Williams, too. For all the praise, I think he just looks good in comparison to sorry ass Sanders. He runs hard and tries, at least, but he's not actually that impressive. I think it's been so long since we saw a good back, we forgot what one looks like. If/when he gets banged up we are beyond screwed.

I bet we make a trade for some back at some point, I just hope it's a halfway decent move and we don't throw away a good pick on this team that's probably going nowhere anyway. I really want to know who stumped for Sanders, whose idea it was to go ultra cheap at RB, and who on the team still thinks Sanders can play at all. This has to be one of the more frustrating moves/non moves in a long time.
Agreed all around, I do think if Blue doesn't have his shit together by the trade deadline they'll probably try to trade for an above average JAG-type with like a 6th.

As far as the zone stuff, I really don't think it's a pure physical/talent thing, it's either the scheme is shit, the players don't understand what they're doing within the scheme, or both.

For now I'm somewhat optimistic that Eberflus will get it sorted out because he's never had a pass defense as bad as we saw yesterday over a long period of time. I don't expect the pass defense to be elite, but it should be somewhere in the middle assuming we can get some stability at CB.

Right, I don't think they'll give up 40 to the very worst teams in the league all year long. And they were pretty good vs the Eagles. So you have to think yesterday wasn't the norm. At least it better not be.

Absolutely. I think Bland is football smart too. The safety play was maddening. They were running forward like they saw something that wasn’t there. Then had to stop, turn around and cover a guy that was literally running a route straight down the field lol. Wtf is that?
Confused by a new system they haven't practiced in. A real coach might have actually played some of these folks in preseason to work out these kinks.

As much as I liked Donovan Wilson the last few years, kinda sour that Muku was kicked to the curb. His ranginess was sorely missed last night. I don't know wtf #6 was thinking.

I think the league wants to get rid of it and I think they were surprised they didn't have the votes this past offseason.

I think they'll have the votes next offseason because at the end of the day it's just not football, and the Eagles have obviously made it a strategy to skirt the rules to their advantage. I'm fine with QB sneaks remaining legal because that's a trademark piece of the game, but there should not be any pushing allowed from behind.
For unfair advantage, League will ban Brandon Aubrey before Tush Push

Injuries have robbed Javonte of his once much-higher potential and he's still a half decent player.

He's a good platoon back. Yet, yes, that is still the best we've had here in a long time.

They absolutely do but the bullshit is the officials just let it go.
Let's not put it past the possibility that the league is cheating.

This is a league where Ezekiel Elliott was suspended for longer than anyone else despite no evidence. A league in which a team featuring the best pass rusher somehow had the fewest holding calls against the opposition. Etc.

In otherwords, taught to cheat.
Any coach worth a damn should coach any advantage they know they can get away with.

If the center is lined up in the neutral zone and it's never called, of course you still do it to win games.

If it was Dallas doing this, the votes against would have been a landslide or at the least there would be no fewer than five new rules drafted to stop it.

Despite the league's own investigator concluding that he didn't deserve any punishment, if I'm remembering right.

Yes.

The league favors the Northeast teams. There is a clear bias for New England and Philly.

I have no idea how that dirty ass backwards franchise somehow gained favored status but the league has been blowing the Eagles for 20 years now. Lurie is a sneaky influential owner.

Whereas I think everyone is glad that Jerry showed them how to make money hand over fist, but, they hate him beyond that. I think ever since the lawsuits of Jones vs the NFL, he's been a pariah.

The owners almost certainly can't stand the self-aggrandizing, redneck carnival barker, and I don't blame them a bit.

They time and again respected his ability to make them money, but I doubt he has many true friends now that Snyder is gone. Kraft, maybe?

Javonte Williams is somehow 7th in the league in rushing at the moment, kind of hilarious given that he looks like a horse dragging a cart behind it when he runs.

He looks like he is running hard to me. He doesn't have elite numbers, but I like him. But like you said, he is a RB2 for sure. Like most on here, I would be interested to see Blue.

Aubrey is an RFA. I'm assuming he'll be resigned, although you never know with this team. But we won't lose him if we don't want to.

I wonder what his value would be on the trade market, just out of curiosity?
