I didn't think he made plays, per se.

Yeah, the stat sheet looks respectable and I'd take 9 for 78 every week from him, but I thought his actual performance was rather pedestrian.

He didn't gain any yards after the catch, didn't break any tackles, didn't leap over or out muscle a defender for a tough catch, etc.

In fact, there were a few plays there where I thought he should have gotten more than he did.

He just basically took what was there and nothing more.

That was a really bad contract to give out and I'm afraid it's going to keep us from trying to improve that position for the next 2 years because we won't want to spend resources on it since we gave Ferguson that extension.
Largely true, but he did make a few plays downfield, they weren't all just 5 yard check downs. He was the one who basically got us into FG range on the last drive with about a 15ish yard catch that got us to around midfield.

I happen to know a RB perfect for this role. He catches the ball like a WR and has elite+ speed. His speed would really throw rhe defense off when compared to Williams who is more of a patient and strong runner. We need a RB who can hit the edges though, too often we stick to only running right up the middle. We have a guy perfect for this role.

But the coaches hate him. And Sanders turned in another 3.0 ypc performance. But he didn't fumble so I guess that is a plus.
Are you talking about Blue? Not sure the coaches hate him as much as he’s just a small rookie and they don’t trust him yet.

Ferguson had that one downfield catch. Everything else, yeah, I thought he was more of a negative than a positive despite the volume of touches.

Yes I am. I think it's just the old school, make the rookie earn it mentality. He will be in there before the year is up. But I'm tired of waiting. In these close game he could be the difference.

Let’s see if PT and his retarded brood fuck around with Aubrey’s contract like they do with everyone else. That guy is a true game changer and I think you could put him out there for a 70 yarder if you just had to win a game at the last second.

Sorry, Leupke got all the spare change…..for some reason.

Javonte Williams is somehow 7th in the league in rushing at the moment, kind of hilarious given that he looks like a horse dragging a cart behind it when he runs.

Aubrey is an RFA. I'm assuming he'll be resigned, although you never know with this team. But we won't lose him if we don't want to.
There's absolutely no chance in hell they let him walk when all it would take is a deal averaging 6.5-7/year.

If they had re-signed Parsons, sure, but there's no way they're going to take the additional fan/media backlash that would come with letting go the undisputed best kicker in the league who has made several high-profile kicks.

Glad to see the tush push getting universally slammed this morning on Get Up. I really feel like this is the last year we see it. Online sentiment about it is pretty much all bad as well. Fingers crossed.
I think the league wants to get rid of it and I think they were surprised they didn't have the votes this past offseason.

I think they'll have the votes next offseason because at the end of the day it's just not football, and the Eagles have obviously made it a strategy to skirt the rules to their advantage. I'm fine with QB sneaks remaining legal because that's a trademark piece of the game, but there should not be any pushing allowed from behind.

On Simp's post...

The zone coverage is infuriating. I know I'm very down on Diggs, but to me it's just unacceptable. Say it's three deep. You still make the play on the ball as soon as the ball goes up. And it's your job to stay deeper than the deepest man. You don't use zone as an excuse to mentally say that's not my guy and just look over at the safety. This is high school level stuff. It's not that complicated.

I wasn't watching super closely, but I do agree that Steward looked pretty good. At least the effort is there. And I think the effort is actually okay with Elam, he just isn't good. As we said when Buffalo let him go.

Agreed on Murray, too. He'll never be a smart player, he'll always be frustrating at times, but he made quite a few pretty good plays yesterday.

Agree on Williams, too. For all the praise, I think he just looks good in comparison to sorry ass Sanders. He runs hard and tries, at least, but he's not actually that impressive. I think it's been so long since we saw a good back, we forgot what one looks like. If/when he gets banged up we are beyond screwed.

I bet we make a trade for some back at some point, I just hope it's a halfway decent move and we don't throw away a good pick on this team that's probably going nowhere anyway. I really want to know who stumped for Sanders, whose idea it was to go ultra cheap at RB, and who on the team still thinks Sanders can play at all. This has to be one of the more frustrating moves/non moves in a long time.
