That's great, yes. We should do what the Lions are doing.

But if we don't, I'm just saying again that it's still a good trade to give a third for a first and change.

But BTW, I do think we would probably spend more in FA if Dak didn't have such a humongous cap number.
So let's say you do trade Pickens away and save 30 mil or so on the cap by doing that. Who are you signing in free agency to make up for the loss on offense but to fix the defense? If you're telling me you're going out and signing Trey Hendrickson (The top defensive free agent) then I get it. But if you're prize signing is Fowler, fuck that.

How did this become that I'm arguing for being cheap? :lol

I'm with you guys. I think we should keep all of our good players. I'm just saying that if Jerry stays cheap like he has been, I don't want keeping Pickens to mean we're the Bengals with a ton of money at WR and no defense.

Hopefully Jerry has had some revelation and changes his ways. I just doubt that he has.

I know that's not what you're arguing.

But this is misguided because the reason why there's "no money" for the defense is because we don't like to spend money, period.

Unless it's for homegrown talent, we do not shell out big contracts and the Cowboys acquiring or not acquiring players in FA has absolutely nothing to do with the salary they pay the current roster -- they simply do not believe in being active players in the market.

So, there's no sense in saving Pickens' money for defense when we're not going to be spending it to acquire talent anyway.

Not to mention they will spend money on defensive players when it's warranted. They spent on Osa, Diggs, and Bland just on the current defense alone. Spending on defense hasn't been the issue with regard to signing their own players.

And money isn't the reason they suck on defense (other than refusing to spend in FA, which they won't do regardless).

Great Win guys even if it were 'Just the raiders" lol This could be a stepping stone for at least singing what we got the next seven games going into 2026 like having that in mind I hope we're competitive and can beat the Eagles and just take it one game at a time..

Yes I truly hope somehow Kenny Clark decides he wants to stay here restructures his contract to something very team friendly like Lowers at a lock 'cause I know it's gonna be tough to keep all three of these guys but I like what that looks like in the middle and I think it's gonna help our young edge rushers.... Guess we'll find out against better competition coming up the next two weeks... we have the rest of the season to evaluate..

I think I'd even pay 10 for javonte Williams. I don't want to go back to the Dowdles of the world. Williams has been worth it.
Dowdle has been just as productive in Carolina though and it hasn't been a fluke.

10/year would be a bridge too far for me honestly, David Montgomery just got 9/year. I'd happy do 6-8 though.

Yeah honestly I'm really happy for Jevonte to have the year he is having. I know the guy has been through a lot on a career that has been derailed by injuries. But I'm also hesitant to financially invest too much in a RB just knowing the short term nature of the position and history with the knee.
